GTA V (2189) NOT LAUNCHING

Featured Replies

I just updated GTA V to v1.0.2189.0 and just as always, broke all my previous mods.

I was ready for that, but what really is troubling me, is that the game is not even launching.

I am on Epic Games Launcher. Once I start the game, the Rockstar Launcher fires up, and after some time of showing the Rockstar Logo, simply quits back. Game integrity checks out fine, though.

Initially I was checking with the scripts and ScripthookV (updated, of course) installed as well as an updated gameconfig.xml, but later on removed them, and still no luck.

Disabled my mods folder right after updating. So, probably not because of the mods and stuff, because the same happens even with a clean install.

Update: The problem seems to be with the ASI Loader now, as disabling the same from the OpenIV Tools > ASI Manager Section loads up the game correctly.

But still, the problem remains with something, it seems, since the ASI Loader is causing it to crash, and without it, many mods aren't going to work.

Rename your mods folder to _mods and then verify your game files.

Also, if you have LML, disable it for the meantime.
Also check the date on your SHV

SOLVED:

Looks like there were some incompatible ASI plugins for the new game version (CScenarioPointPatch to be the exact one).

Once I removed this, it was fine again.

Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for the help! 🙂

You're a life saver, I spent a few hours removing and adding files as I finally decided to upgrade from my reverted 2060.1

GTA is the perfect example on how a single file could make or break your game. Appreciate you for posting your solution, and your indirect saving grace.
