So I disable updates for GTA V and such, and still it always updates. It does this for nearly all of my steam games. Is there something I am missing with the rockstar games launcher or something?. Or is it just impossible to launch your game without steam/rockstar launcher updating it or something?. I was in the process of still modding my setup so coincidentally I just backed up last night. What can I do to assure it doesn't update once I put it into the correct folder location?.

Disabling automatic updates for Steam only disables automatic downloading and updating, not the update checks. If the publisher pushes an update for the game, Steam will lock it out until it's updated.

 

There is (sadly) no way to completely disable updating of games, short of bonkers workarounds that will backfire in a couple of weeks anyway when the DRM locks it out.

Damn, back in the day you could just use offline mode. Such a shame. Hopefully LSPDFR and Scripthook receive an update within a few days or weeks. All we can do is hang tight now. Just sucks to have some multiplayer update for your game when you exclusively play and use said game for it's single player lol.
