Crash to Desktop - Possible Mods issue?

Featured Replies

Hi!
I'm having an issue where I'm crashing to desktop every 30-45 mins, I'm either just patrolling, ending a call, or arriving at a scene, so it's most situations it's happening in, which makes me think it's not plugins (purged the out of date ones, except for BetterEMS), and it could be some mods, specifically the ones in the spoilers.

Yesterday I decided to mix up Los Santos a bit, and get some new mods (prior to these mods I had only installed an ELS pack, and a Glock weapon model from GTA-5 Mods).

I installed the following mods yesterday:

For AI Traffic Fluidity & Discipline, I placed the prerequisites (FileHeap Limit Adjuster, Pack Size Adjuster) into the main directory as instructed.

For this mod, I also used these gameconfig files (https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars)

and used the file within for 1.5x traffic and 1.5x peds. I have a decent set up (Ryzen 7 2700, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, and a 2060 Super GPU) so I'm not worried about memory on my end, or the system not being able to handle it, because it should, but for troubleshooting sake I have reduced my graphic options by about 1/2, and still I'm crashing out the game every 30-45mins.

I've made sure my vehicles.meta has been adjusted as per the traffic AI (and that I redid handling lines for the ELS pack), the game config has also been set up to allow traffic AI to work. I'm just quite stumped on what the issue could be, save for rolling back one mod at a time, I was hoping someone may have advice from looking at the mods, and my RPH.log

P.S. I'm aware the log says SirenLimitAdjuster.dll is missing, I got rid of two of the three files, forgetting about the other one in scripts (but the crashes were happening before I installed that to see if it would alleviate this morning)

Thanks in Advance!

EDIT1: I've also noticed in the log that the error message isn't there. It's error 0xc0000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION)

Hey man!

TBH I'm not the biggest GTA modding expert in the world. I have a few similiar mods. The times I tend to get crashes is when LSPDFR callouts are running on top of each other.

I suppose more traffic can cause memory issues, I've been running something like 1.6 modifier myself and haven't had issues. Modern PCs generally have lots of space for GTA5.

All crashes I've experienced have been due to plugins and scripts. My weapon mod is 'light' and simply overwrites vanilla files.

Hi Rebel!

I did mean to post an update to this thread.

Your mod is definitely not the cause, I've been running it for a few days with zero issues; it's a fantastic mod btw, breathes new life into the gameplay. I believe the issue was either the traffic AI mod. But more likely it was the traffic gameconfig I've been using, as whenever I try a new game config (whether it be 0.5x traffic or 4x traffic) my game becomes unstable, so I think it's a systems problem on my side which I'm looking into as to why it doesn't work for me, but works for a lot of other people who use traffic configs

Good call on the plugins and callouts, I've had a few LSPDFR crashes lately where a callout has been forced, but that's not as big an issue as the whole game crashing so I'm not too worried about fixing that
