Impossible to PIT

Featured Replies

This issue is nothing to do with LSPDFR, it's an issue with game itself. Try to use a bigger vehicle (such as SUV) to PIT to increase the chance of success, or try to blow the suspect's tires which will make PIT a lot easier.

Supporting is somewhat like locating an issue, then trying to apply a protocol that would eventually guide the subject to fix their game, and sometimes, on rare occasions, trying to diagnose a weird issue with everything you know.

Even with an FPIU or Tahoe I still can't get the vehicle to spin. I suspect it's an issue with FR itself because I can spin out vehicles easily unless they're a pursuit entity with FR.

Have you tested that?

You can try to get an AI to drive at high speeds in Story Mode then try to PIT them.

As for the issue at hand, I'm not sure how to solve it, I'm afraid.

Yes, I've tested it. That's why I said I can spin out vehicles easily unless they're a pursuit entity. 😆

That's interesting.

I tried to use the PIT maneuver yesterday. It took a few attempts but It worked.

Have you tried using a vehicle with a pushbar?

I don't believe so

It literally feels like the pursuit vehicles are stuck on rails. Even if I wind up and sideswipe them at like 50+mph, they don't budge at all. Same thing if I keep gassing it into the side of them down the road.

Well, maybe using a pushbar might be effective.

You can try that out and see if it works then 🙂

A few things:

Have you tried letting the AI pit the vehicle? I remember some of by backup units going for a PIT before. I'm not sure if it's a default feature or if it is included in one of my mods/plugins. I suspect it might be STP. Give that a shot.

Have you tried deploying strips on the vehicle? It might be easier then.

Try using a rambar/pushbar and see if it helps at all.

The AI seem to be able to PIT the vehicles fine; it's just me.

Hmm... I think that study rules out the LSPDFR pursuit entity problem.

Did you try with the pushbar?

I'd hate to say this but maybe study the AI PIT maneuver technique.

Yes, I tried it with a pushbar and no change.

I tried to recreate what the AI do to successfully PIT a vehicle (basically just get a running start to crash into the back quarter panel of the vehicle) to no avail.

Unfortunately, I don't think I have any other solution.

I suggest you install a realistic handling mod as I've seen that work before as well.

I can also confirm this is an issue. I've analyzed the console logs and apparently when the AI cops try to pit the suspect, an event called

Events_PedPittedAndCrashedByCop

is invoked. This makes sense that the AI cops are able to PIT but not the players because whenever the AI cops PIT, this event is getting called, allowing the actual PIT to happen. For players though, since they don't get to invoke this event, the PIT becomes almost impossible. I remember back in the 0.2 or 0.3 days we were able to PIT much easier. People may argue this adds realism due to an increased difficulty, but I'd say the LSPDFR devs should just let the players choose to have this option enabled or not.

It's not even realistic in the slightest, that's the unfortunate part. Especially when I can ram their ass end with a big ole chonkin SUV and have their little coupe just keep going like nothing happened.

SAME HERE! I tried everything plus downloaded an handling mod etc.

Maybe try to change the yehicle mass?

Give your Ford Crown a higher mass, maybe the same number, than a SUV have.

Please have patience with me, my native language is german. Give me some feedback!

I helped you? Give a like👍🏽
