So I have been having some problems when trying to install and run vehicles. I follow the tutorials step by step with all up to date file yet when I am in the game I can’t find the vehicles. The one time I got the vehicle into the game the lights did not work. When I try to name the new vehicle as police1 the vehicles are all glitched out. Any thoughts?

A few questions:

First, are you using Patchday 23? It doesn't work. Use 17-22.

Is the vehicle ELS? If it is, Have you installed ScriptHookV? If it's Non-ELS, Have you install the required files (The vehicles.meta etc.)

The vehicle names are police, not police1.

these are the following police slots:

police4 (Unmarked. Use agency.xml to make it patrol around the streets)

riot

riot2 (Not really used)

 

I had it on day20 so I will switch to 23. I’m not running els right now until I get use to the game more. I was confused where the vehicle.meta files go so didn’t include them.

ELS is really simple to install and really simple to use. I recommend it 🙂

That might be the cause of the lights not working.

 

Where do you put the vehicle.meta files?

I'm not sure about the location. I think it's the above location.

Going to add on to this a bit, custom non-els vehicles often require custom carcols or at least modifications of carvariations, making conflicts in them more common and making them harder to install in general. You will likely want the sirensetting limit adjuster for non-els vehicles. If you find you are satisfied with a non-els pack that doesn't exist as els rather than dropping it completely you can look into setting them up for DLS.

All that said I can not say if you should use non-els/dls, dls or els as that is your choice to make but hopefully this helps you a little bit in deciding, who knows maybe you'll choose more than one.
