The older version of LSPDFR is no longer available for download nor can people give you an older copy because it doesnt belong to them. Just download the newest version and install. If you use any of BejoIjo's Plugins, uninstall them until they can be updated.

May I ask which plugins are incompatible? My plugins optimized for LSPDFR 0.4.6 work fine.

Millions of people use it. Exposure to millions of new customers.   Auto updates.

 

The patreon thing is fine, I guess - but $1.00 or $4.00 a month. Isn't LSPDFR worth more that 12 dollars a year? Really I just want auto updates and I'm willing to pay for it. I am tired of updating the ragehook, then patching GTA, then patching LSPDFR, then updating all the plugins. Steam does it all with auto updates.  They also have "the workshop" that auto loads mods (like new cars) into the game.

 

So yeah, great question....why NOT steam?

Hmm....not gonna lie....that was a well defended statement. Maybe something they could look into in the future....if Steam lets them. But that would also ask the question, what about EPIC and Retail? How would they access these updates? Same as how it is currently and the only people who get the automatic updates are Steam users?

Will LSPDFR even make money if you put the early access on Steam? People will purchase GTA off Steam and see this free beta 0.4.8 and join. Sure, it will attract millions of customers, but where is the income?

The thing is with patreon, it costs extra so instead of allowing Steam GTA players access for FREE, they can actually make a few bucks out of it.

I'm suggesting LSPDR be something people purchase.  Steam is littered with early access titles - some cost as much as $49 - like Mount and Blade II...

If they like the free version they could stick to the free version or they could risk buying the new version and screwing their game up again.

For the lspdfr development team, not letting an older version publish just because some users want to play additional plugins compatible with that same version is mega nonsense, and the lspdfr team couldn't care less. The developers of lspdfr can also release three versions in no time and the authors of the plug-in, if they want users to keep playing that mod, they need to update their mods to the latest version of lspdfr and it's not lspdfr's fault if it has released a version that is still incompatible with the other plug-ins. If it happens as you say, lspdfr should no longer release updates because some plug-ins may no longer be updated and therefore used by users.

There is an older version of LSPDFR available (0.3b), but it will only work well with an older version of GTA 5.

There is no winning. Either way, people will complain. The point to be made is that forward will get the most progress and staying in the past (0.3b and such) just isn't the place to be anymore. Instead of complaining when they try and add new stuff, be productive and suggest things that might help them.

For instance, I would love to see:

1. Default NPCs back in as well as the customizable ones.
2. Add back the agencies that were removed when they added the customization feature.

I think those would work well with the current build to make for a more productive future release. 🙂

I was absolutely not complaining, I was simply explaining that the authors (if they want) will have to make their mod compatible if they want their plugin to be optimized for users and the lspdfr team does not have to and is not bound by the fact that the plug-ins are still incompatible
