Random peds always start shooting at me

Featured Replies

I'm surprised I haven't found anything on this topic as it's completely ruining the whole experience for me; 9 times out of 10 when I discharge my weapon to take down a suspect, random peds and occupants in cars nearby turn into gang members and start shooting at me.

This happens no matter where I am as long as there's traffic or other peds around, and during any callout from any pack I use (unless I use a tazer). A random guy on a bike in Paleto Bay turning into a Grove St banger attacking me whenever there's gunfire makes no sense. I just responded to a traffic stop backup on Sonora Fwy and when I took the suspect down, Ballas jumped out of several cars on the opposite side of the road and started shooting.

I never see bangers outside of their normal areas until I use a weapon. My log doesn't indicate at all whether this is caused by a particular plugin, but I get two events logged immediately whenever this happens - "Allowed non-ambient ped to shoot due to flag" as well as "Allowed civilian to shoot". That's it.

Keep Calm solved this issue for me but I had to remove it on the basis that I go from a solid 70+ fps to an unplayable 20 with it running, and StopShittingBricks doesn't help with this.

Any ideas why this keeps happening? Thanks
