Proper Etiquette Question

Featured Replies

Seeing I'm still kinda new to the GTA community, what is the proper etiquette when posting a new skin or modified model? I come from a sim racing community so I am used to giving credit for templates, decals, and such. Obviously I know to give credit if I ever uploaded a modified model, but what about custom skins? Do I credit the model maker/s? Just thought I'd ask since I am working on a new skin to represent the Buffalo, NY Police Department. I plan on uploading it here when I'm dont and I wanted to double check some things so I don't get blasted for accidentally leaving out someone's name, lol.

And here's the WIP of the car,

If I understood merging parts and having things ELS enabled better, I'd work on a custom version, but alas my lack of knowledge fails me, lol. I must say though, this is a lot more fun than painting stock cars all the time. And the model options are crazy. Love that!

as a guy that does skins..

when i upload a skin i simply credit:

The guy that made the skins (that would be me)

The Guy that made the Screenshots or Videos (that would be also me)

and (i forget that sometimes) the guy that made the template

Now what i also do is Link to the Model and say that model is from that guy..

but i don't put the creator of the model into the credits because he simply didn't work with me on those skins

and since almost every crown vic skin is compatible with almost every model i don't think there's a need for that. I mean if so you would need to credit 20 people or so xD

you know what i mean?

BUT If i would upload a Model + Skins (and have permession to do this) i would also credit the autor of the model

So I would need permission first if I were to use one of them unlocked vehicles and parts?
