err_str_failure_3 fix?

Featured Replies

So my game crashes on startup and gives me this error. Previously it would give me this error after my first plugin callout (err_str_failure_3).
Some articles say its a memory thing others say to delete all your cars. I'd prefer to do neither seeing as how it doesn't seem to matter what cars I use, i have this issue.
How can I get my game working again?  Also I've tried installing new vehicles multiple times.

Thanks,

~Jessica

Thank you so much for replying!

These are the plugins:
-lspdfr
-united callouts
-eup menu
-stop the ped
-compulite

These are the cars:

All manual installs, no addons.  Thanks again @UnknownBastion

This error is almost always a memory error, I usually get it if a car file is to large.  If it is doing this for you on start up that would mean it is something you have loading on startup. What I would do is disable the plugin loading on startup and 1 by 1 go through and start each plugin manually through the command bar to see which one gives you that error.

Hello,

What was the thing you installed right before getting this error?

Thanks! 🙂

The cars. To @Ripple 's point; when I first started getting this error (later in my session than first boot up) I reinstalled just the plugins with no vehicles and everything worked fine. I installed the vehicles last. I intentionally installed different ones from the first time. Then the error occurred again earlier in the session. I like loading lspdfr on start up because I enjoy the immersion of starting in my characters apt, but maybe its more trouble than its worth.  That being said, I don't think its the plugins. Thank you, both of you btw.

I should mention that I only used the caprice from the "BCSO nForcer" pack.

So I tried disabling the "Main.PreloadAllModels" option in the lspdfr.ini because I heard that can
cause issue but it seems to only put a band-aid on the gun shot wound. I still get the crash after a longer period of time now.
