lspdfr keeps crashing needing help

Yeah I restart the laptop at least once a day, I have tried running GTA on it's own, and that does work fine. I just cannot seem to find what is causing the LSPDFR issue, currently I am installing each plugin one by one slowly to try find which is at fault. I have a second GTA Folder which is just LSPDFR vanilla. Last night I left it running for a good couple of hours, came back and it was still on, so it does look like one of the plugins/mods is causing the issue, but which one, is a whole different question 😄 The irony is, having just the vanilla LSPDFR with no mods or extra plugins, I was getting worse FPS than I was with all the extras added. I was getting around 70 - 80 FPS Lol.

Yeah I do have it excluded in windows security centre also.

Well, at least we know a plugin is at fault. Now you just gotta do it one by one and then we'll know. Glad we got that confirmed!

Why do you have shortcuts for the VehicleSearch? The files aren't actually in there, it's just a shortcut to where it located. Arrest Manager looks a little outdated, try removing that for now and tell me what happens!

  • I'm not personally seeing why it would crash, there's no visible thing that would lead to a crash. I do how ever see that you're using both Assorted Callouts and Arrest Manager. I assume you're tried

  • Hm that is rather strange indeed. Usually crashes comes down to a specific event happening, perhaps due to a scripts/plugin. But if it's happening in vanilla lspdfr I'll have to ask this, was lspdfr 0

  • Well, that system is a disaster at all so I doubt it's that. What were your temps though? Another thing I'd like to know, what plugins, scripts and mods do you use? Basically everything in the gt

Yup, I think what got me confused the most, is that there is no real sign in the log that shows conflictions or faults. It is a rather boring and standard log, and with the severity of crashes, I would have expect there to be something waving in there saying "It's me at fault" but not a nugget. I am putting my money on either computer plus or 1 of the callout plugins.

Most likely a callout to be fair, the game might be trying to read one in and boom it crashes. Especially if it hasn't been updated to 0.4 or updated in a long time.

This is what I have installed at the moment and I have no issues at all, apart from manually having to go on duty through the console if I attempt to go on duty outside of Los Santos.;

Yup I second that motion. I am going to check those plugins you have, they all sound pretty decent, especially the lite ones. Although my FPS is clearly not an issue, it could go a long way to make it even more stable

Unless your pc is weak and the car models are 4k or 8k chances are this is not the reason why.

I mean I understand wanting more callouts, but better be safe than sorry and install those that works fine for 0.4.6. You can sort by 0.4.6 compatible mods in downloads on here.

Lively world looks like it was last updated back in December 06, 2018. Anything not up to date with the current version of LSPDFR can cause issues, can I ask what the specs are for your computer?

i think it was lively world, it never crashed but started doing it today, i removed it and got 10 mins game time with no big time plugins, putting the plugs back in and seeing if it was just lively world

I hope that's it, cause my reply on your other topic wouldn't be very nice to do, especially if you wanna play lspdfr right now. Let us know how it goes!

Super news, hope things stay more stable now you removed lively world

Very true, looks like you have some good scripts running though, so i don't think I will lose out on too much. It is trying to mod LSPDFR for British styles which seem to be more difficult than other mods. Fortunately I have enough memory to be able to make multiple back ups, so reverting things isn't such as pain. The most time consuming thing is doing the CSI style investigation on finding out which is the culprit lol.

I think you can still install british policing scripts and such, I highly doubt that the reason behind it. Could be but I don't think so honestly..

I agree, I do think it was CalloutsV or NiceCallouts

Currently installing a fresh vanilla GTA, once it is done I will run it with LSPDFR without the callouts. I will then slowly add other plugins back on it, and I am downloading some of the mods you use.

Had a day or 2 of testing and so far all looks well, had 2 crashes but they were typical LSPDFR crashes nothing major. Put almost everything I had back on, including some of the mods you have. The only ones I didn't even bother trying is CalloutsV and NiceCallouts, so I am guessing it was one of those which was the culprit. Although I did install them on a vanilla install of LSPDFR and they were running fine, I just think they were conflicting with some other Mod or script I had running, and for whatever reason they didn't get on well.  Before I could hardly start a session and it would keep crashing, but so far I have managed to have some good runs. Thank you for all your help, been great discussing things with you.

I might not be the most effective helper, but I'm new at it and I hope people can see that I'm trying. My way isn't directly knowing that THIS or THAT file is behind it. I take a more unconventional way and try to get to the root of it. Cause honestly, when you mess with mods and plugins made without little or not enough bug testing things can happen. Things can also not be related to the game itself. Luckily it looks like it might have been a conflict or a bad read from a callout, we'll never really know I suppose. I am glad how ever that we or you got it sorted. I know the feeling of being a little departed from LSPDFR.

You just get in the game and keep doing what you wanna do, and if you have any issues I'd be more than glad to "help" again xD.

Happy policing mate!

I totally agree, modding sure can be messy at times. It is finding the right balance between what you want and what the game can actually take as far as being modified. I have the same kind of approach as you do, I have never really learned how to be a fully fledged expert on modding, but I know enough and can read code, so things tend to go ok. There is also usually a log for when things go wrong, but in this case that was not so helpful Lol. Your theory was spot on as the Callout scripts were definitely causing upset somewhere in the depths of everything, so props to you my friend.

You have been a massive help, you should give yourself more credit mate. You definitely answered my call for help here when no one else seemed to be active in this support area. I will be sure to come running back here if anything else untoward happens. So thank you again, much appreciated.

Feel free to hit me up on any of the contact links.

I achieved my goal at least, to solve the issue we had. Which we did and now another person can once again enjoy the glorious mod lspdfr actually is. I just wish Rockstar would make the G17 Media team a part of Rockstar Games and have them work on various police scenes with their maps. It would be so cool to actually pay for a police game, much like LSPDFR but without issues and with optimization in mind. Just imagine what a multibillion dollar studio like Rockstar Games and their parent organization Take-Two Interactive can do.

Anyways I really don't wanna drag this topic on since this is no way related to support so I'll leave it with that. Otherwise yes, just hit me up any time with anything related to LSPDFR or problems with other games and computers. I usually get to the bottom of problems eventually.

I sure will, thanks. You too mate!
