Real Time Sync Reborn

WARNING : Delete the older version before updating this mod. Preserve your APPID.

INTRODUCTION:

Real Time Sync Reborn is, as its name says, a reborn of a mod originally developed for GTA IV which was intended to synchronize game time to system time. GTA IV version was pretty rudimentary since functions offered by GTA IV in terms of weather and forecast was pretty inexistent. Actually, I completely gave up after a lot of tries. That time is over folks!

Welcome to Real Time Sync Reborn!

  • Time synchronization between the game and your system
  • Weather synchronization between your city (can be set in a configuration file) and your game
  • Weather notifications every 10 minutes via the new notification system introduced in GTA V
  • An ingame menu to setup the mod (arrow keys to navigate, Enter to validate)
  • Crash prevention (because we don’t like when our game crashes)

What are the drawbacks?!

You need to sign up an account (IT’S FREE) on www.openweathermap.org to receive an APPID key in order to get your local weather forecast.

PREREQUISITES:

INSTALLATION:

  1. Put RealTimeSyncReborn.dll, RealTimeSyncReborn folder and its INI file into your Plugins folder
  2. Open your INI file and modify it as you wish

USAGE:

Spoiler
  1. Launch your game via the Rage Plugin Hook binary
  2. Load your single player story (we don’t like players using mods online)
  3. Press F4 to open your Rage Plugin Hook console
  4. Type loadPlugin RealTimeSyncReborn.dll then press Enter!
  5. Enjoy

KEY MAPPING:

Don't forget to read the README.pdf file to see what you can use as key name for your Menu key !

What's New in Version 1.1a

Released

  • Corrected a bug occurring when gathering updated version.
  • Corrected a bug occurring when gathering weather forecast of local region when APPID wasn’t set in the ini file. Now, the weather forecast notification doesn’t show up if you don’t set your APPID. You NEED to get an APPID on www.openweathermap.org (refer to the manual).
  • Added a line in the RagePluginHook console at start of RealTimeSyncReborn to monitor the online version found via the update checker process

It annoys me that the game has no 'light rain'. It's been raining on and off but in the game it's always chucking it down lol.

I have used this mod in my LSPDFR episodes and will continue to do so.

Same :) I've only recorded 1 episode so far, but i have the mod in there aswell. Played today too and it was constantly raining :D

Actually, here in Marseille, FR, it's sunny almost 95% of the year... Which is great IRL but my mod makes the game immersion pretty flat... ^^

Yea i actually just today thought about this. The thunderstorms in GTA V look amazing, but i'm probably never going to see them ingame anymore because if i see a big thunderstorm outside, the pc is getting shut off fast :D Don't want to risk it :D But to be honest, i could just turn off the weather sync and just keep the time sync on, that would solve that problem.

Or you can just set the weather location to a city in the north of Scotland :D (nothing against scottish ^^...)

I have a suggestion.

Instead of light rain defaulting to "rain" ingame how about "clearing" instead?

I tried it earlier in my latest video and it seemed to fit it perfectly.

Yep, it will be corrected in the next update

I actually experienced a problem... Here in Marseille, it's a little bit cloudy and it translated to clearing in game... So... It was raining in game but not IRL... So I need to tweak all that stuff a little bit!

So yes, report any kind of inapropriate forecast :)

I think you could use Overcast?

Nope : I will add it for the next release

I use "None" to stop the menu coming up in my game

And I didn't know that by default the word None can be used to disable a key... Thanks ;)

Actually, that doesn't work like this... This is most likely an option which .Net understands when you pass it on a Keys parent :)

 

(Good news : The new version will not have stuttering issues anymore : I've introduced traditional multithreading in addition to Gamefiber threads)

I rebound the menu key off num5 but thats still activating it. anyone know why?

Yep you're right... Let me test this on my side. I'll get back to you and i'll upload a new version if needed.

EDIT : It works nice and smoothly for me... I took the exact same config than your and it works... Check your config file... I'll upload a new version soon in which the key used to OpenMenu will be listed in the console when the mod starts so it can helps you to debug your problem.

After updating to v 1.0, the game crashes when loading this plugin. I have redownloaded and reinstalled the mod again, but the problem still persist.
