Max settings

LoneWolfSpecter

Today I upgraded my pc and thought I'd share a screenshot of my game running at max settings.

I'm running with Nvidia GTX970 and an AMD 8350 4.0Ghz 8-core cpu. My operating system is Windows 10. FPS is a steady 50 during daytime and 60 at night time. I had a slight stutter but only because I was using a very high mb police car that was spawning near me while I was driving the same  high mb car. The game looks amazing and I will be posting more photos with the new graphics. The only game I've benchmark test so far is GTAV and so far it looks promising. The screenshot has no ingame filters at all. its all visualV and placing of the camera.

Mods used in the screenshot are:

VisualV 1.0.200

Texture by me and will be released soon

Vehicle is Blaine County sheriff CVPI by Virzza

Steady 50fps at max settings!? I have the 970 and an FX-9590 8 core at 4ghz myself and I'd never get steady 50 at max. More like anything between 30 and 50 depending on the area. Tell me your secrets!

No secret at all really. My specs are similar to yours  but I'm also on the same boat as you buddy. I have this issue with my game where it plays fine, then out of nowhere it drops frames drastically and last up to 3-5 seconds then back to normal for another few minutes then repeat. Even at a clean install with no mods. It all started when I upgraded to Win10. It never did this when I had Windows 8.1

So to troubleshoot this, I keep my game at max settings, but I force lock the fps to 30fps. I forgot which setting it is but I think its V-sync set to half that allows this. It helps for a steady gameplay. I've been running my game like this for some time now and it works wonders. There are a few times when it would act up but its only on certain parts of the city.

Quick tip:

  • Avoid modded cars that have way too much unnecessary eye candy stuff. Stick to cars with decent lightings and less clutter (ex. dashboard hats, hanging handcuffs, trunk equipment, seat organizers, etc.) This is just adding on to the model file size and its more memory/RAM your game has to use up
  • Avoid RDE with the added cars. It adds high poly models that you most likely will never use. Yea its cool for the additional features and police cars but the rest is completely unnecessary. If you want more police cars, its best to add them yourself. theres a simple tutorial on how to do it in the forums. You can also find mods that do the same as RDE. RDE is just an All-in-one mod, sadly you're limited to what gets added. either cool features or meh! original cars.
  • Avoid ENB, sweetfx and reshades. That's also more strain on your game. Use timecycle mods like VisualV and several others.
  • Play around with your settings. Eventually you'll find a sweet spot where your game will run great.
