  1. Kudos for a job well done! I collect and restore vintage police cars and my first one was a 1990 Texas DPS Mustang SSP/Special Service Package. Do you by chance have a template I could use to make other skins for my own use? Do you have any plans for future Mustang SSP's? Would love to have one of the ones I'm restoring right now.
  2. I applaud the work and effort in this. Looks like you modeled it off of unit 90E (a 1990 LTD). The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority (separately funded from the Mass State Police and known as Troop E) were testing directional arrow locations, so a "test vehicle" was created to test a traffic director in the rear window versus a traffic director in the lightbar. The rear window 10-lamp arrowstick was chosen, the lightbar was changed to reflect a traditional MSP setup. The MSP cars did not actually have traffic directors installed from day 1. Only the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority installed traffic directors because they had funding for them. That "test car" is long gone, but the car you based this off of, unit 90E, is an accurate recreation of that test car. A friend of mine owns the car and I've driven it many times. I collect and restore old vintage MSP car and actually will be making a slicktop version with my LTD.
  3. I actually restore and collect police cars (Mustang SSP's, a drug bust GT turned police car and a few other non-Mustang police cars). I own the Massachusetts State Police Mustang GT and my friend purchased one of the three NYPD Mustang GT's for a museum. I'd like you to consider making those two models, as those would be accurate to the hatchback model. Plus, I would really love to drive my car around! 😉 I have two in-service photos (original look and a later look near the end of service) and a picture of the current state of the vehicle sitting on my trailer unrestored being pulled by my MSP Bronco for your enjoyment.
  4. I'd love to see a Whelen Bar and a newer Bronco model. First pic is mine in service and the second pic is how it sits today with my Mustang GT on the trailer. Both of these are 1 of 1 units.
As a person who collects, restores and displays MA State Police cars across the northeast, I've been waiting for an accurate MSP Explorer. You did an excellent job! Fits nicely with my MSP Bronco, Crown Vic and F250! I will be redoing the skin to be a little more accurate, but the model is amazing!
  5. Just wanted to inform you that if you decide to make a NYPD or Mass State Police Mustang, last Wednesday I picked up Mass State Police #1451 and now own it and will begin restoration next year.
