    If you search around on the forums, you will find the solution to that problem. If you move your entire GTA IV installation directory to a place that you own, i.e your desktop, you can change the properties there and then move it back to its original place! :)

    You go to the GTA IV install directory, right click GTAIV.exe and click the tab called "Details". Under version is your current patch. If it's not 1.0.7.0, you need to go to this link:

    You need to be and run the game as an administrator for it to work. Also, make sure you are running the latest patch.

    You have to disable write protection for your gta iv folder I believe.
    Right-click on your gta iv folder and go to properties, then uncheck Write-Protection.
