He's using Unity3D, but I don't know if it's the free limited version or the paid one. EDIT : looking at his video, it seems to be the free version, but maybe I'm wrong ^^ It's a good engine/framework for indie 3D devs, following the projects. If you're interested, you can look at UDK or other tools too.

Sounds interesting, nice job ! And Unity is a solid engine/framework, I hope you'll port this game on Linux as Unity is now available on this OS. But, on a side note, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to use real-life cars, I mean yes that's cool, but maybe you'll have some problems as you don't pay a license to use brands & models.
