Los Santos RED
Hi Gerhart67 aka Greskrendtregk aka thatoneguy650 lol! First thank you for the incredible work on Los Santos Red! It's so much more superior to regular GTAV experience, it's like living in a breathing world that's waaay more immersive with all the police responses and gangs and things to do, and the customization and ability to play as indendent random ped is what makes it even better with custom saves and persistent vehicles etc, so many incredible things you've done with LS Red it's honestly craaaazy! Special thanks for .xml files and ability to configure a lot of things mate! I’ve been playing LS Red alongside turf-war mods, and I noticed a slight disconnect in how the systems operate. In LS Red, gang Dens are persistent, and if you have bad rep, strike squads will relentlessly hunt you down until your rep is cleared. I get it where you are coming from but I thought it could be interesting to make things a bit more dynamic? I was wondering if you would ever consider adding a "Gang Boss Decapitation & Dynamic Turf War and & Gang's Hierarchy" feature? It would add an incredible endgame to the gang mechanics. Here is how I envision it working: Player's Offensive To Solve Hit-Squad Problem Thru Gameplay Boss Assassination: If a player reaches the absolute worst reputation with a gang (maybe a configurable threshold in the .xml), they are constantly hunted. Instead of just waiting for rep to decay, the player gets an option to RAID that gang's Den which is trying to hunt the player down. The goal is to assassinate the "Gang Boss" or multiple bosses OR there could be some "other variety of ways to cripple the gang". Crippling the Gang: Killing the Boss "decapitates" the gang for exadmple. As a reward the gang becomes drastically weakened, their morale breaks, and they immediately stop spawning strike squads to hunt the player. It rewards the player for going on the offensive! This also solves hit-squad problem through gameplay rather than just waiting for rep to decay or pay off. Organic Power Vacuum Of The Criminal Underworld Capturable Dens: Once the gang is crippled they need time to recover, but while they recover their Den becomes "vulnerable". Player/Ally Takeover (option A): If the player has their own gang (or is allied with an existing gang), they can claim the "vulnerable" gang Den after crippling the gang. This would switch the ambient spawn data of that Den to the player's allied gang. And in surrounding area player's allied gang will have much more presence. The Power Vacuum (option B): If the player chooses not to claim the Den (or can't because let's say the player is not allied with any other gang), a "power vacuum occurs". The closest neighboring rival NPC gang or could be chosen randomly OR in some other immersive way will automatically take over the territory, and their gang members will now spawn ambiently at that Den instead and in surroundings with their presence increased in that area. Counter-Strike: Gang's Recovery & RetaliationCrippled Gang Retaliation Phase 1 - Setup for Recovery/Destruction: A few days after decapitating a gang, the player might get a text from an ally: "The Ballas are flying in new leadership at LSIA," or "They are doing a massive weapon deal in Paleto to fund a comeback." or there could be remnants of that gang trying to meet up or sell drugs or basically do anything and try to reinforce themselves in some way, shape, or form. The player can travel there and disrupt the event. If the player succeeds, the gang is permanently crushed - their ambient spawns drop to near-zero across the map with/without possibility to recover. If the player ignores it, the gang successfully recovers through this "crippled gang's recovery event". Crippled Gang Retaliation Phase 2 - Raid on Den: Now that "the crippled gang has recovered and wants their Den back so it launches a raid on their Den" which was taken away from them or perhaps on any other gang's Den - this raid could be ambient or if player is allied with the gang the den of which is getting attacked then the player could be notified on their phone by the allied gang and given a timer to arrive and help protect the den against waves of enemies. This could be similar to how in Online we have Police Businesses Raids and player can arrive to help. Gang's Hierarchy & Hierarchy Of Gangs (as a massive addon for the future?)1. Internal Gang Hierarchy (The Chain of Command)Instead of a gang just being a faceless swarm of NPCs, each major gang has an internal structure. To get to the Boss, the player has to break their chain of command. The Ranks: Gangs are split into tiers—Street Soldiers, Enforcers, Lieutenants, and the Kingpin (Boss). Hunting the Brass: Player with this addon can’t just walk up and kill a Boss right away. If player have bad rep with a gang, they would first have to draw out and eliminate their Enforcers and Lieutenants. Killing a Lieutenant weakens that specific Den's defenses, making the final "Decapitation Raid" on the Kingpin much easier. Player Progression: If the player runs their own gang (or joins one), they can climb this exact same ladder. Player start as a Soldier, and as they gain rep and capture Dens do some gang missions the player doesn't just earn rep - they are getting promoted in RANK. Eventually, the player can become the Kingpin, allowing them to promote their own allied NPCs to Lieutenants and assign them to guard your captured Dens! Declare wars on other gangs and manage relationships, etc etc 2. The Hierarchy of Gangs (Global Power Ranking)Not all gangs are created equal. The mod would track a dynamic "Global Power Ranking" for every gang in Los Santos, grading them from the weakest street crew to the undisputed rulers of the city. The most powerful gangs could be simply calculated by the amount of their Dens or The Power Level: A gang’s overall rank could be calculated dynamically based on how many Dens they control, how many Lieutenants they have alive, and their wealth. The Apex Syndicate (#1 Gang): The gang at the top of the hierarchy is terrifying. Their strike squads roll up in armored vehicles with heavy weapons, and their Dens are heavily fortified. They might even force the lower-tier gangs to pay them "tribute" (meaning if you ally with a weak gang, you might have to help them fight off the #1 gang's extortion squads). The Den Raids could also be giving off two possibilities for the captors - 1. either to take over the den for themselves or 2. vassalize the defeated gang. Bottom-Feeders: Gangs at the bottom of the ranking are desperate. They use cheap pistols, drive rusty cars don't have any, and have weak Dens. Dynamic Power Shifts: This is where it gets crazy. If you assassinate the Boss of the #1 gang (through Decapitation), their Global Power Rank plummets. Suddenly, the #2 and #3 gangs will aggressively start fighting each other—and the player—is in a massive power vacuum to claim the empty throne for their allied gang or just go on with their day and see Criminal Underworld Hierarchy crumble and shift with new gangs taking over the Den which was raided by the player. If these systems were in place, it would completely open up brand new playstyles in LS Red. This would be great because it could make the gang Dens dynamic so that they could be taken and eventually there could be a playstyle for the total control of LS where the player could take over all the gangs' Dens, maybe it could yield some benefits like increased payroll for the player or their allied gang, which also now begs introduction of "Gang's Heirarchy" opening possibilities for a playstyle centered around becoming boss of a gang, waging dynamic turf wars on hostile gangs, taking their dens or subduing them with a possibility to take out all of them to dominate LS and make it very RED xd Perhaps there could be option to let other gangs exist in peace between each other, or have some gangs paying tribute and respects to other gangs. This could create effect of "deeper criminal underworld" with some gangs running others, etc. The player wouldn't just be surviving the gangs of Los Santos; they'd be running them! So we could have "Gang's Hierarchy" within all gangs and then potentially "Hierarchy of the Criminal Underworld" within all the gangs. I know that making static spawn nodes dynamic and scripting these kinds of events is a monumental task, but I truly think this would be the crown jewel of LS Red's gang mechanics. It turns a static map into a fully simulated, brutal Mobland ecosystem with Tom Hardy aka Alfie Solomons (okay maybe without Tom Hardy but you get the point) lol. Sorry I tried to make this massive message as interesting to read as possible xD Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks again for the incredible mod!!!! Deserves much more recognition.
