officerpudding78 reacted to Him1250 in Emergency Distributors ScamIt's fucked up the community has come to this point. I understand the concept behind making money for paid vehicles, hell I do it myself. It's really low for someone to scam multiple people and then give them the big ol' middle finger but I am not surprised, this is the GTA community after all. Hasn't changed in the 10 years I've been active..

officerpudding78 got a reaction from PhillBellic in Conversion Between Degrees and RadiansIntroduction
At some point in time, we all have been exposed to the unit circle, whether it was
in middle school, high school, or even college/university; however, why is it important
in the realm of development and what does it look like?
For starters, the unit circle serves as a way to convert degrees into radians. This is crucial
especially when working with non-els environmental lighting. In Grand Theft Auto V,
Rockstar Games uses radians as a way to manage start and delta values inside carcols.meta.
Notes: Top half of the unit circle represents the driver side and the bottom half represents the passenger side.
Pi represents the rear and 0 degrees represents the nose of the car.
In order to find how the values were derived in the images, use the equation below!
Converting Degrees Into Radians
The chart above is useful if mathematically inclined; however, for those who are like me
who do not get it right away; I have an easier way to derive values for delta and start.
(degrees°) × (Pi) / 180
NOTES: For all values on the passenger side, use the ones you get on the driver side and make the answer negative.
Q: 'Alright pudding, this is great and all but how is this equation exactly used?! What if I wanted my environmental lighting 35° in carcols.meta?'
A: Just plug and chug! (35) x (Pi or 3.14....) / 180 = 0.610865238
Let's try a few practice problems:
1. If Bobby wanted siren9 reflecting towards the back of his vehicle (180*), what is the Delta Value in the carcols.meta for this specific siren?
(180) x (Pi or 3.14....) / 180 = 3.151592654
2. Jimmy wants his siren1 to reflect on the passenger side of his vehicle at 45*. What is the Delta Value in the carcols.meta for this specific siren?
- [(45) x (Pi or 3.14....) / 180] = - 0.785398163
3. Alex decided that a light was going to face 135* (driver side) on his car. What is the Delta Value? Work this one out and the answer will be in the spoiler below.
If you had the answer right, congratulations! Now you know how to convert degrees into radians. I know I have not covered the start value but this value
luckily measures in radians just like the delta value does.
Start values essentially offset the env lighting to start in a specific spot when activating your non-els lights.

officerpudding78 reacted to Sam in Diamond Casino Update - More InfoAs you'll be aware by now, Rockstar Games has released a new update for GTA V called "The Diamond Casino & Resort DLC", which adds a bunch of new casino-themed content to GTA Online, as well as other miscellaneous fixes both for GTA Online and for GTA V.
This is nothing new, and over the past five years we have regularly seen such updates on a six-monthly basis. Whenever an update like this is released, almost all scripts and plugins (and the stuff that makes them work behind the scenes) needs to also be updated to be compatible with the new game version. With the way that modding for GTA V works, this is unavoidable.
I thought it would be useful to provide an official update from us regarding this, and have also listed below some frequently asked questions.
Please do not create new topics or ask for support regarding the incompatible game version.
When will updated versions of RAGEPluginHook and ScriptHook V be available?
Typically the RAGEPluginHook (RPH) - the thing that makes LSPDFR work - is updated within a couple of days. ScriptHook V (SHV), which is similar, but powers a lot of other script mods, is typically updated within a week or so.
Note that updating software like RPH and SHV to make it compatible with a new game version is not a trivial task - it isn't like there's a few buttons to click and it's done. It actually takes a lot of effort because so many things within the game can change with a new update.
How can I play LSPDFR just now?
If your copy of GTA V has not updated to the latest version (1734), you will not notice any changes and can continue to play normally. If you have updated (usually this is automatic), you will need to either wait for the RAGEPluginHook and LSPDFR to be updated, or you will need to revert to an earlier version of GTA V (1604).
How do I revert to an earlier version?
When you first played LSPDFR with the RAGEPluginHook, the RPH launcher will have asked you if you wished to make a backup of your game files. If you did this, you should be able to launch the RAGEPluginHook like normal and follow the steps to revert to the backup it created.
If you did not choose to create a backup with the RAGEPluginHook, you will have to do this manually. We cannot help you with this, nor can we (or anyone else on this website) provide any files from previous game versions as they are copyrighted.
Will this update add anything to LSPDFR?
No, this is an update primarily for GTA Online - which is Rockstar's official multiplayer service for GTA V. However, these updates also routinely include fixes or minor additions to the singleplayer game too, such as fixes to bugs during story missions and even new radio stations.
Some of the content included in this update may be made available in singleplayer at a later date by other mods, or potentially within LSPDFR.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss the update in general, please use this topic to do so.
If anyone has useful information that they'd like to share (videos on how to downgrade, etc.), please also post below and I will add it to the topic.

officerpudding78 reacted to medic4523 in Still waiting...The sad part is... when you're good at the work, people want more... and if you start producing more, then you quickly transition from a hobby, to a business... and that business has to be supported somehow. The answer is usually charging, because just relying on donations doesn't cut it.
I personally have nothing against those who do charge. That is their operation to run, has no impact on me, and really isn't anyone's business. But when it comes to dev models and parts, I come into it knowing that I'll likely have to pay to use it... because the guy who bought it from TurboSquid or whatever also paid for it. And you either take the loss if you can afford it, or you find means to offset your expenses. Not everything is free in life, nor should it be... that's just not how it works.

officerpudding78 reacted to Joe C Wilson in Still waiting...To me, this seems to be a big part of the issue. The developers just want better security for their mods, so it would be harder for people to take/rip/steal modifications from this website. I am getting a feeling people aren't looking into the actual issue here. I think this is becoming a bigger problem now because of "No, our website is built on the principle that anyone can browse and download. We're not here to shut things off or stop people from downloading mods. This will never change." Everyone still wants to download modifications that users create, but making a website this easily accessible, with no intention of changing it's protocols, could be one of the reasons, people might be leaving?

officerpudding78 got a reaction from AvidMods in Still waiting...But how many are resolved. It's hard for us to make an inference on the works of the team with limited information. Statistics maybe? Overall, I gathered that many devs felt attacked. I gathered that some are worried about their content. Others feel that they aren't supported or backed by the staff.
All I'm suggesting is hear out the community. They can help guide the team in areas that may raise concerns. Many here today have brought valid points. But what does it take to be supported by staff?
Do you value the people here? Or is it all for glory and publicity.
-
officerpudding78 got a reaction from AvidMods in Still waiting...I definitely say this couldn't have been said any better. People work hard to build this community. You guys work hard in keeping this community sane. However, it's significantly different when developers feel like they aren't supported.
There is this notion that moderators can't have much control of what occurs outside of LCPDFR.com, but hypothetically speaking: would moderation be any different if lspdfr and lcpdfr was either sold or uploaded at an external source?
The prominent issue that rises stands in equality. There is also an issue with unnecessary word choices used in the response of a community moderator.
I think that before any lashings are made, there must be some form of reality check. This community has went through many talented creators.

officerpudding78 reacted to B. McDonald in Still waiting...Gotcha, my apologies. Obviously hard to tell the tone of someone through text. I just assumed it was sarcastic or something. Like I said, I don't really release anything because of this risk. If im being honest, im no genius when it comes to this stuff. I wouldn't be able to compete with half the people on this forum lol. But I know how and I do it on the side for friends. I also make skins, have made SEVERAL for personal use and for use within a FiveM community. I have contemplated releasing some of the skins, but don't really know if its worth it or not.

officerpudding78 reacted to medic4523 in Still waiting...@Sam @Cyan
Thank you for taking the time to join us this afternoon. My intentions were not to create a spectacle, but your team crossed a line. When your "customers" have an important message to share, it seems best to at least hear the concern and have a constructive conversation. That's the attitude I came into today with, but the name calling and general apathetic, poor demeanor certainly escalated things. I understand you are addressing that issue; thank you.
You can understand why people would be upset. You can understand why content creators would want some form of protection. I understand you are not the internet police, and some actions taken regardless may have little to no impact on the end result. However, the "we can't do anything" and "we won't do anything" hurt... because it was perceived as not even caring enough to try. That's all most of us wanted; some sort of effort. A message denouncing behavior. Something. Anything to show you were willing to try to help us out. But we couldn't even seem to get someone to listen, until everything burned out of control today. Why did it have to come to that point?
You guys made a great point today that will help a lot of developers decide what is best for them going forward: LSPDFR is a public website, and anyone can download anything they want, without restriction, and your decision is to remain that way. And like Turtle said, because of that, the people that have left or will be leaving, won't be coming back.
If either of you would like to continue a conversation in DMs, you know where to find me.

officerpudding78 reacted toDeactivated Memberin Still waiting...Your not serious are you. How could you call the people who cause this site/mod to grow snowflakes. I dont think people like you understand what it feels like to have something of yours ripped or stolen after putting in hours of your time and sometimes days, hell I've seen real good and I mean REAL GOOD modelers put even months into their mods. And for the people like you who clearly dont care enough about them to even vouch for some extra security on the site for their models is pretty outrageous. As mentioned previous before, this site would be nothing without those who showed real dedication to making the vehicles we have now. Come on, have some common sense. Real money goes into this, how would you like it if you just bought a brand new car, did some upgrades to it and then someone steals it while you are asleep and rips things like the turbo or maybe some real nice seats you put into it and then returns it back to your home. Thats how it can feel sometimes when the stuff you spent money on gets stolen and ripped right from you.

officerpudding78 reacted to Jedahdiah in Still waiting...As I said previous post.
Hi I'm Jedahdiah, and I'm a dramatic developer and I'd like to join this dramatic developer anonymous group.
Interesting though that the staff on the site want to keep closing topics that are saying the site doesn't support modders.
First, staff called us stupid and dramatic, and now they think censoring us by closing topics is a good idiots to silence us?
An excellent tactic. If only the French thought of that in the war.

officerpudding78 got a reaction from THEMIGHTYCB in Lightbar disappearingSo this has nothing to do with the user and the user's installation. This is an issue with the model. To break the cause down, models have view distances known as LOD's. Some vehicles have parts that disappear because those vehicles have lower depth fields. Depth Fields range from LO1, LO2, LO3, and LO4. By the looks of the model, the person who designed the model probably only went up to L1 meaning they are not providing much of a scoping range to see the vehicle. The only way to fix this is if the files were unlocked, yft wise and you could add more LO's in a program called Zmodeler3.

officerpudding78 got a reaction from OfficerAntony in Rage Crashing when startingHello, it seems that your game and rage versions are up-to-date. Can you list the current version of Rage you are utilizing?
Nevermind, I see that it is up-to-date as well. Do you have additional scripts besides LSPDFR?
-
officerpudding78 got a reaction from OfficerAntony in Rage Crashing when startingAre there any additional scripts being used besides LSPDFR?
-
officerpudding78 got a reaction from OfficerAntony in Rage Crashing when startingSo I have similar plugins installed besides the gun mods. What I would do is begin pulling one plugin out at a time to identify the issue. I don't have issues with LSPDFR+ or COMPUTER+.
1) Be sure to have Albo's latest version of Albocommon.dll
2) I would pull out the gun mods and make sure they are vanilla/default game weapons. Before pulling them out, be sure to test the game with Albo's updated dll
