It was basically a DOT cavalcade, but the files for it were written for cavalcade. Also, I thought the stockade was a police vehicle, because that was the other mod that I installed and neither of them are working. Also I try copying the text from vehicle.ide to Microsoft Office to edit it and put "+livery" but then when I save it and try to replace the current vehicle.ide file it won't let me.

The cars that I have aren't in the ELS folder, the cars were like the stockade, or cavalcade which were regular cars, but I found mods that were set for those cars. Also, does it matter the text editor that I use such as notepad or Microsoft Office?

Also, and apologies for double posting I haven't found an edit button, but I have a couple mod cars installed in my game but I cant get the lights to turn on. Now the cars I have were not originally emergency vehicles of any sort so they normally don't have lights, what can I do to fix this?

I've tried it in SparkIV and Open and it's not letting me edit it to put "+livery" is there something I'm not doing or missing?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to put this; but I had a stupid question. I see several players that have multiples of what appears to be the same model but with different skins. I was wondering if that is possible, to have multiples of the same model ie: the ambulance, or police etc etc with different skins. If this is would someone please assist me with how to do this. Thank you in advanced anyone who may be able to help.

I'm running it after re-installing the mod, and I'm looking through that checklist and I can't find some of those files in the checklist, and I've followed the directions of re-installing with the automatic installer.. Also every time I try running the G17 diagnostic tool it crashes. But it says I have everything needed to run the program. How do I update my version of GTA IV to 1.0.7.0?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything, and now I'm getting an error and it stops loading.

I've tried and unfortunately nothing is working, should I try uninstalling everything and reinstalling? Or should I try installing everything on my Vista laptop since right now I'm trying this on my Windows 7 laptop. Would that make a difference at all?

Hope its not a problem that I come and post in this topic, mine was locked as I thought the problem was fixed. Of course I thought everything was fine and when I went to play its not. Still none of the lights worked and it says to press J, K, and L but they do nothing, if I press the <, button that says light mode 1, 2, or 3 active but doesn't actually do anything, I still have the one solid light forward and rear facing. I've gone into ELS and put everything to active. Also none of the cars I have spawn, I either get an error message unable to spawn object, invalid model, or it spawns but is almost a ghost car thats floating in air. So what have I done wrong now? My apologies for asking for help again.

ELS.ini file? Where is that located?

I'm putting all the appropriate files where they go, and they seem to be working. I'm still having trouble with the lights though, what happens is that certain lights, one in the front and one in the back stay solid and I can't turn any lights on or off. I have downloaded and installed ELS, but not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

I was able to get and open OpenIV, however I'm still lost as to how to add cars or replace existing ones with ones I've downloaded so that they function properly in the game. I keep reading the tutorial and I still have no idea what folder they are in doing all of that or how to do it. Every car i download just has the two files, car.wtf and car.wtd nothing else. So how do I take those and put those cars into the game so that they work properly? These cars are also coming from the site GTA Police Mods.

Apparently I haven't worked on computers in a while, problem is in my GTA IV folder under Rockstar Games only things I have are two additional folders, one for music and one for video. I googled OpenIV but couldn't find a working copy. So I'm not sure where to go to actually edit anything, that's my problem. As far as if eventually I'm able to find where to edit is it as simple as just copying and pasting what that tutorial has such as: "carcol.dat cargrp.dat default.dat gta.dat images.txt" and "a new car file(wft + wtd) openIV" That's my biggest problem, is I haven't found any folders or anything except for if I browse in SparkIV that would allow me to do anything to vehicles, and all that allows me to do is replace a current existing car. I apologize if I seem like a moron right now, which is how I feel; I'm just trying to get the best out of gameplay. Thank you again all for trying to help me with this.

Every time I downloaded a car, it said all you had to do was place the vehicles .wtd and .wtf files in models, cdimages/vehicles. I was only able to replace not actually add using SparkIV, it only replaced for example FBI it did not add a whole new car which is what I want to do. That tutorial is not the best at explaining what to do, and I don't know where to go to get all that stuff so I can put new cars in. That tutorial you linked me to just starts out with step 1, doesn't tell you what program you need or where you actually go to do that stuff. Is there someone who can give a little better and clearer instructions on what to do?

I was able to get one more of the cars that I installed, however it won't let me add new cars to the vehicle images section, how do I go about adding completely new cars and having more available? Also I have ELS, I can change the lights with the original cars, however if I'm in a modded vehicle it doesn't let me change lights or turn them on, there are a couple lights that are steady on and I can't change them.

Apologies for being a little vague, what I mean by one car is available is that; I've installed a couple of mod cars, I can only select one of them. The rest of the cars are all the regular ones from the game. I can't select all of the mod cars I've downloaded to drive around in. As far as my ELS being enabled, I'm going to guess that's a download or is that something that gets changed in a file or folder.

I have searched everywhere on here for help with two problems I have running LCPDFR. The first problem is that only one of the mod cars I've installed shows up and is available, and I don't know if there are any garages or anything where there would be other police cars to select. If anyone has any help they can give me on how to get the other cars I've installed it would be greatly appreciated. Also the second problem is in the one mod car I have, I cannot turn the lights on. I'm following the keys "<," to do it and it says light package 1,2, or 3 activated, but the lights don't actually turn on, and it messes with the siren. Is there something I'm doing wrong or an install package I'm missing? Anyone who can help with either of these problems would be greatly appreciated.
