  1. Hilarious is my reaction. The one time I watch TV or sports for that matter is one time every year, the Superbowl. No legit I don't even own a TV. So streaming it online worked great, and the final play was just hilarious. They tried to run down the clock by throwing it in to waste some plays, but nobody predicted the interception, and when that happened all hell just broke lose because everybody knew the game was over. The Seahawks played the game a little too risky, or cocky for that matter. On several occasions they should've just gone with safety points instead of doing big plays, especially with the incredible defense they have and great line backers. Twas a good game, glad to hear security was sharp and riots didn't break out. My local university had a couple people arrested after a 500 person mosh pit gathering outside the library, but other than that everything was fine.
  2. Naked Gun, Airplane!, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, The Dark Knight Series, & Captain America are my favorites.
  3. Agreed, we're not debating the effectiveness of North Korean paramilitary forces, just it's reported numerical strength. In contrast to North Korea, paramilitary here in the states, most notably Police since there isn't militias anymore, is often quite well trained, with many coming from a military background. It becomes evident that North Korea doesn't have the resources to provide appropriate, adequet equipment and training and instead rely on numerical advantages to appear threatening.
  4. Thanks for clarifying this, I was using my terms incorrectly. Collectively, North Korea's Armed Forces including Military, Reserves, and Paramilitary is #1, numerically speaking. A side note, I don't really know why the majority of their Armed Forces are paramilitary, seems a little odd to me. You'd think they'd just funnel everything into their Military.
  5. What Michael said, I trust Wikipedia. You could sort the data a different way, through non-combat personal, off-duty, active duty, ect. But from what I see, I trust their sources and data. It makes sense too, North Korea is one of the more militarized countries on the planet.
  6. I wasn't sure what LCPDCheese was referring to, which he later clarified to be dealing with finances of a military. With that said, North Korea still remains the largest standing army in the world. Would the numbers change significantly if there was a major conflict or policy change? Of course. Would finances, equipment, training, positions, ect effect the outcome of a conflict? Of course. But speaking completely numerically, what is what I thought LCPDCheese was getting at, North Korea still stands as #1, and we all know why that is. 7. NYC "would be behind Greece and AHEAD of North Korea", In what context? Financial, Military Strength, IQ, Education, Birth Rate Defects? I have no idea what you're talking about If you're talking about numerical military members because you mentioned an NYPD Army, that's definitely wrong because North Korea would kick NYC's butt. North Korea has the largest standing military on our planet by an absolute longshot.
  8. I like the low profile ALPRs more.
  9. If anything, he's defending the school. Many schools have policy for teachers/students to not interfere with fights, even if it may be a moral obligation to intervene to save somebody, according to schools and policies, it may not be a legal one. With lawsuits and everything, they saw to leave it to Police. Honestly, I'd interfere with a fight law or not if it meant saving somebody from harm, because the policy and law isn't going to tell me what's right and what's not.
  10. Some people think education, and their phones are a right in school. It's a privilege.
  11. I hope somebody makes a forum post about the best kind of toppings next.
  12. DX12 will be supported with Windows 8.1, but not Windows 7 or 8. Additionally, upgrading to Windows 10 isn't about getting games to run properly, it's about adapting to new standards and not being left in the dust when new titles requiring DX12 are released. I have Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 all installed on seperate SSDs and I've played games on all of them except Windows 10, and Windows 7 is noticeably slow, not so much for games but just overall usage. Makes sense though, it was designed for older hardware and software standards and just won't keep up with modern titles. The vast majority of games designed for Windows 7 and Windows 8 will run without problem in Windows 10, unless Microsoft really screws something up. so stay tune.
  13. Ok, now that I have time to readdress this after reading every comment, it is clear this forum post has reached a consensus, what you're doing, whatever it is because I'm still not completely sure, is completely wrong. So in summary, you come to a mainly conservative, Law Enforcement/PC Gaming enthusiast forum website and post something pretty much Anti-Police, saying your great idea is replacing law enforcement with a "Militia" (Illegal BTW) in Northern Philadelphia and using black people, and black people only to impersonate the duties of a police officer, without training, all while carrying a concealed firearm and not an open carry firearm. I just don't get it, where is the good in this? This is such an extremist take on "Black Lives Matter" or "End Police Racial Profiling" that it's comparable to Malcolm X. Now, I assume this whole plan is about what I mentioned in the prior sentence, so if that's true (And you should make it clear what your objectives are) then that is the wrong approach to solving these issues. Talk with political and community leaders, peacefully protest, and address problems within your own community (Ghettos, as you mentioned) such as minimum wage workers, access to health care, staying in school, drugs, ect. Hopefully you see our point as a community, as I explain in my opinion, what I believe while sharing the opinions of everyone else here, although I don't wish to speak on behalf of anyone else. I will not be posting again as the community has clearly made their point.
  14. You sound like a complete nut. There is no reason in an urban city to start arming a particular race, and a particular race only with concealed handguns. If anything, you're just going to make up more problems rather than solve them. In my own personal opinion, concealed carry only works if everybody has it, or nobody has it. Arming only a particular race of people for whatever reason will make everyone paranoid, and others target them for theft, and police action, theoretically. Well regulated? Please. They're going to take their classes and never hear from them again. And as for a militia, what? There is no impending Crisis in Phili, and even if there was, there are 3 levels of Law Enforcement and military on standby. Boko Haram hasn't moved in next door. Last time I checked it was still 70 year old Ms. Stevens. In no way am I in favor of taking away the second amendment, but only arming some people with the intentions of a "War" (That's what Militia Means) in my opinion, sounds completely unnecessary to say the least, and will only result in more problems in violence. I honestly believe more people with guns is bad, since so many people despite classes and regulations don't use them properly, of course in addition to those that obtain them illegally.
  15. Funny you should say that, I read in an article that he had shot somebody earlier in the year, when a man ran at him with a knife raised. He apparently did not kill the man though, and the department praised him for using non-lethal force (Although not specified exactly what happened) in that encounter. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/01/watch-body-camera-captures-oklahoma-cop-fatally-shooting-man-outside-church-wedding/ Ah, I found it. Easily could've killed the man, but whether by fate or by training he was able to subdue the man after a fight. http://www.fox23.com/news/news/local/muskogee-police-officer-cleared-shooting/ngmHY/ Seems like a very good officer to me, sad he had to shoot that man. He said later in the video that I initially posted "why'd he have to run" or something like that, there's definitely some true remorse there.
  16. Yeah he really should've kept his distance, but other than that he did his job. Reported crime, and helped to back up the officer's actions. Two things many people have stopped doing today.
  17. I can't be the only one here who thinks the doomsday clock is a little silly and impractical way to measure the instability of humanity. Sounds like a bunch of nuts if you ask me, despite them being nuclear scientists.
  18. Warning, Content is Graphic: In my opinion, I'm glad Body Cameras are being implemented. It can show a lot that a dash cam of a cruiser simply cannot. In this instance, while the Cruiser Cam would've captured the initial pat-down, it did not cover the shooting at 1:50 in the video. What I think is more important, is the the Officer's Breakdown and Realization moment at 7:10, a very powerful moment which also wouldn't have been A/V captured using a dash cam. It's a side of a shooting you don't see, the emotional aspect of having to take another person's life. Also, I just wanted to point out how great the Pastor was, who saw the whole event and informed the police right away of what he witnessed.
  19. Ok, I can see that. I was never raised religiously, so I don't know how religious people think. My vague understanding was that the bible says god created animals, not evolution for example, but I can see the "keeping an eye on you" modern thinking.
  20. I don't mean to pick on you here, as I see you said you wish to be out of the discussion, but I personally can't see how one can be religious (believe in a god) and believe in Evolution (believe in science). Science and Religion by definition and practice completely contradict each other, and we've seen throughout history that that is true when the churches would do everything up through killing people for suggesting science. Sure it was another time, and churches don't have as much power as today, but still, the divide between two routes of thinking is still present. That's just me though.
  21. Nvidia Shadowplay in my opinion is easily the best free, comprehensive video recorder I've ever used, and I've tried them all.
  22. Sounds like Vermont's famous Green Mountains & Gold color scheme, but their uniforms are not grey. Only other agency I know of that is similar is their neighbor, New Hampshire.
  23. Thanks for catching my mistake, although now my post looks misplaced. Oh well, better than having 50+ topics of the same thing.
  24. I must be losing my mind, I totally didn't see an article when I looked.
  25. Article: http://www.theverge.com/2015/1/21/7866679/windows-10-will-be-a-free-upgrade-for-windows-7-and-8-1-users Basically, Windows 10, Microsoft's newest OS to be later in the year, will be Microsoft's first major OS Release since the disaster of Windows 8/8.1, which was so bad, it forced the then current CEO to "Retire". The OS Will be available as a one time upgrade for 7, 8.1, and 8.1 mobile users for the first year after Windows 10 release. How's Windows 10 for gaming? Nothing can be said for sure besides the fact it will support DirectX 12, so Windows 7 users, if you want to play the latest games, you better upgrade because Windows 7 will not be supported. Will the Windows 10 launch be a complete and utter failure like ME, Vista, 8/8.1? Will you upgrade straight away or wait to see the product reviewed? I'm a little skeptical, but Microsoft really has to make a good product here because everyone is looking down on them after 8/8.1 (Btw, an OS I actually use and enjoy greatly), they better get back to their more conventional roots of a Start Button, Desktop Apps and Icons, Windows Explorer, and no Live Metro Tiles and other garbage like that. The company took a bet several years ago by thinking the PC Market was dying and make a combined Phone/Tablet/PC OS, which definitely went into the books as one of Microsoft's greater launch failures, as the PC Market is booming, yet mobile sales, especially tablet, and starting to stay steady instead of growth.
