matthew3774 got a reaction from taschi in 0.4.8 hidden feature?
I just out of curiosity tried the “close nearby roads” option from the police radio interaction menu in 0.4.8. Previously in 0.3.1 it just made cars disappear, and didn’t always work, but it seems in 0.4.8 cars coming down the road will take the first exit before they get to the scene where the road is closed.

its extremely realistic and makes managing the scene of an accident etc so much better.

it just surprises me that this wasnt in the release notes, as it’s a huge feature and supersedes a lot of traffic control plugins.

By the way, your scene manager plug-in is a great idea. There is a huge gap in the plugins market for plugins for closing roads and managing traffic.

I enjoyed watching COPS at first but it ended up literally just being every other subject was just someone who had weed in their car and it became tiresome to watch. I think regardless of political views watching cops arresting people for possessing marijuana never makes for the most enthralling footage...

I think the earlier episodes were more raw and realistic. The chases were the best part of those shows in my opinion

matthew3774 got a reaction from waynieoaks in LSPDFR with Steering Wheel, Pedals etc.
I picked up a Logitech G29 with gear shifter the other day, £228 but my God has it made my patrols 80x more realistic. Pursuits are actually a challenge again, and just being on patrol sat at the desk with the wheel in a dark room feels like I’m actually in the car on patrol.

i would thoroughly recommend picking up even a cheap steering wheel and pedals without force feedback, just for how much more immersive it makes this game.

Also default steering with keyboard sucks, controller is slightly better with brake and throttle but still the steering on a x360 controller is poor, it’s either 100% turn to the left or 100% turn to the right, just looks weird when all the AI cars are driving smoothly round bends and you’re driving like a drunk. Steering wheel fixes that completely.
