    I had exactly the same problem! Game crashes without even starting RPH. What worked for me was to copy the files update.rpf and update2.rpf from gtav/update to gtav/mods/update. Watch out: first make a backup of update.rpf in mods folder because you're handling.meta is in there and you will loose it if you replace it. Later you can update the new handling.meta with the old data. Hope it works!
