Dumb question as I'm a bit new at GTAV mods. Where do I need to put each file? That info wasn't in your readme.
I assume I add these 3 to the current patchday folder?
19Tahoe.yft
19Tahoe.ytd
19Tahoe_hi.yft
This file i'm not sure as it's not a direct replacement for the vehicles.meta in: Grand Theft Auto V\Mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5
vehicles.meta
Do I add the data to the current vehicles.meta?
And I have no clue on these 2.
carcols.meta
carvariations.meta
Thanks in advance!
Thank you for making a product that will hopefully make loading mods super easy! I have a not so technical friend I am helping and hope to use the LML to allow him to easily add mods to his LSPDFR.
I however am trying to get a grasp on making/editing the install.xml file and understanding how some of the mod files work. What I don't seem to understand is what exactly creates the name used when you spawn an item in the game.
Ex. the Example you use with the Chevy Tahoe Christmas tree. To spawn that car in the game, you type "spawn 16tahoe". Seems easy enough except I don't see where that name is referenced in the install.xml or the folder name etc.. Sure the folder name and .xml reference the full name of 16Tahoe_JoshM and I would have thought the spawn command would have been using the full name, "spawn 16Tahoe_JoshM". The _resource.lua is listed which I thought might have the spawn name of 16tahoe listed but it does not. I did see in your example on .xmls where <Addon Name = "my car"> and I thought to myself, oh that's where i'll find the spawn name! But I was wrong. Infact, that line was not even in the example Chevy Tahoe at all. Then I realized it's the name of the .ytd file. Which seems plain enough once I figured it out, but I guess I don't comprehend why the spawn name is not listed or referenced in the install.xml or any of the other files. Heck I don't even see where in the info .txt or on the model download page that the spawn name is listed. Just seems unintuitive.
I tried downloading another vehicle that was not already labeled with the LML tag and it converted it and all but it was the same way and I struggled to find the spawn name until I realized it is the name of the .ytd file. Granted the mod wouldn't spawn but that's not your fault.
Realize I'm new to this, i'm just looking to grasp it better. Thank you again for listening and for making this mod loader. I"m hoping it will make my friend's life easier to load mods.
and if there is a way to search the forums for LML tags only so I can find easy mods for him to start with, please let me know.
