The Mexican Federal Police used to have six divisions. One of them was Regional Safety (Seguridad Regional). The principal duty of this enforcement was watching the speed limit on federal highways and bring emergency service in case of accidents. The Group of Specialized Attention to Transport (G.A.E.T.), was a specialized unit whose principal commitment was to supervise the freight vehicles.
