Hi All,
I am a new/returning player. I started using LSPDFR around 2017, and I enjoyed it immensely. I noticed with the newest versions, the dev team seems to be focusing on off-duty related content as well as on-duty. Including a hefty character creator, which I think is fantastic. I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod or maybe a suite of mods that are more tailored towards a progression based style of play?
So here's what I mean:
Say you have a script that will load every single call out, ambient event, or other related activities installed in your plugins folder into a configurable .ini file that would allow you to rank installed callouts to certain tiers of progression. The mod will begin recording the players stats. With every 'X' number of callouts + ambient events completed, the mod will move the player to the next rank or tier. This simulates progression and gives players something to work towards other than just an open sandbox.
If integrated, would there be anyway to also limit vehicle usage? Say certain vehicles are only usable at certain tiers. If the player attempts to spawn with a vehicle outside of their rank or drive a vehicle outside of their rank, it immediately removes them from the vehicle or warns them that they don't have the license to operate said vehicle. Maybe even set up an event that spawns the player out in a cleared area with a traffic test that they have to conduct and pass in order to gain said license. Think ala Gran Turismo's License system.
The same approach could be used to limit the operation of certain firearms in the players load outs.
I get it, being able to launch LSPDFR and get into any situation is quite convenient, but it begins to provide diminishing returns after playing for a while.
