Script Hook V and rage plugin hook
Honestly if it ever took longer than say a month I reckon we would see alternatives or further development to things like: https://github.com/fr-Pursuit/AsiSupport which in a very basic explanation reroutes calls from scripthookv to the rage plugin hook. There was also this: https://github.com/ivanmeler/OpenVHook which remakes SHV itself. I think how closed source all the APIs are is super annoying but the only reason alternatives haven't appeared is because it's thankless work and SHV or RPH always eventually come through in the end and release updates.

Others have managed small increases with 6GB VRAM but your mileage may vary, if you are getting texture loss but still have spare VRAM then this will very likely still help.

Hey! Have you tried disabling experimental mode by using "enableExperimentalMode=0"? If that doesn't help try running GTA V as admin and let me know if it says the same thing.

Unless you see pretty consistent texture loss, pop ins or density issues just keep it at the default of 1900, but you are free to bump it up a bit, if you do. I should be auto detecting your 32GB ram but I left a manual setting for Vram due to it varying in stability on other systems, although I've had people with RTX 4090s tell me it works fine at higher amounts I have no easy way to test this on my system at home.

Yeah mines is still working on the latest patch, I quickly checked the sig offsets with cheat engine and they still point to the same data as well. R* would likely need to make pretty sizeable changes for it to throw off the offsets as well. Unless you are using a cracked version or another mod that makes similar changes it really should still work.

By graphics mods I meant stuff like NVE, QuantV, VisualV etc. On the latest GTA V and ScriptHook I can't get a crash on my end with my game maxed out and a couple of mods installed, all it takes is one step skipped or one mod interacting badly with another to cause crashes so it can be very hard to diagnose.

Are you copying all the files into your GTA V directory and not changing any values, If so, what main graphics mods are you using?

Yeah likely at some point but I'm working on another mod atm which I want to get at least out for testing first.

Good to hear you got it working. I've had a few folk with RTX 4090s tell me they've used 10000 for the ini and been fine, but until you actually use up the memory it's meaningless, so yeah ~2000 is a good starting point for stability and enough to run LSPDFR, NVE, map remasters and full car replace packs with 0 texture loss, atleast for myself anyway.

Sorry just seen this, been really busy irl. This is just a memory hook script, no changes are permanent so feel free to experiment. Stuttering is likely another mod/too many or you are reaching the limit for what your computer can handle and hitting memory limits. Check your usage via task manager for example, if your GPU memory is near max try lowering the config (although I try to avoid this in the script already), otherwise it's likely another mod demanding too much, you could also try reducing your game settings then restarting if you are close to the limits.

Nah should be compatible with all mods unless they deliberately target the same changes incorrectly. Also if you have more than 8GB on your GPU you can just use the default settings or tweak it however in the included ini under additional vram.

It's just straight up additional GPU memory that can be used by the game, if you set it as 1GB then 1GB will be made available on top of the previous total. If you open the log file generated when it runs you can see the actual total before and after the patch. Behind the scenes and depending on your in-game settings R* set a max value that game assets can take up, which is the biggest cause of texture loss when you add in modded vehicles for example since you are changing what R* intended.

They aren't talking about FPS and as it is right now the script runs once on game boot and adjusts usuable memory limits and pools then essentially closes so it's impossible for it to drop FPS by itself, you would have to have wrong required specs/config imho. Also this isn't made to boost framerates either in case there was any confusion.

I doubt it would be this script and I'm pretty sure the FiveM issue was just client sync issues, what are your specs anyway and have you tested just removing this script?

You really shouldn't set additional GPU memory that high as a 12GB card could probably only make use of an additional 3 or 4GB depending on in game settings. Do you also run a heap adjuster and decent gameconfig?

Hell yeah brother, glad its working nicely for you. I'm looking into increasing LOD ranges for higher end machines as well, what sort of FPS do you tend to sit around with your setup?

Sadly don't think 3GB is enough. Stock GTA V already uses ~1.5GB for game assets at Very High. You could try with something like 256 to start, but beware you may start stuttering depending on mods and settings as the GPU starts using system memory instead. The lower the hardware the more difficult it becomes finding a decent config. Either way, let me know how you get on as I think that's the lowest amount of VRAM I've seen people use this with.

Good to know, a lot does vary with what mods you have and in game settings active but it seems like 6GB GPUs can just and no more work with this patch to a decent degree. Cheers!

I'd leave it at 1900 to begin with honestly. If you ever see any texture loss or issues with the map you can always bump that up a little as a little goes a long way.

I can't remember which specific one it was but I'm actually switching one I found on YouTube today (ModCollection).

You should be good, was thinking about adding stuff like the heap but there's already so many good mods that target that already, if there was a conflict you could fix it by disabling experimental mode just now anyway, or eventually additional settings in the config in an update. As for recommended memory I'd stick around 2048 and test, nothing bad happens with setting too much but it may lead to stuttering eventually, I've yet to get texture loss with the 1900 default and I have quite a lot of graphics, map and vehicle mods right now. It would be great if you could help me test it actually, if you use too much GPU memory it will essentially be knocked down a tier into using some of your system memory which can lead to bad performance/texture loss again, stock maxed out GTA on my machine defaults to 1.5GB before this mod. If you open task manager and go to performance then GPU you can see a breakdown at the bottom of GPU memory being used, would be good to see what the baseline usage is without this mod and then potentially with it.

Nice one man! Yeah texture loss was driving me mad with the last few GTA updates. It's been nice to just drive about without the world falling apart around me lol.

A collection of patches (some of which are used by FiveM) to improve stability, reduce texture loss and actually use your system's available resources as much as possible. Please note that this script is designed for high end systems with 8GB or more of GPU memory and more than 8GB of system memory available to be used solely by the game, although this is configurable via the included INI file. Requirements An ASI loader like the one included with ScriptHookV "dinput8.dll". Installation Place "GTAV.ResourceAdjuster.asi" & "ResourceAdjuster.ini" into your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Changelog 1.0 Initial release.- 104 comments
