Last week the Deputies of the Harbor County Sheriff's Office responded to complaints from residents on Sinclair Street in HCSO District 1. Residents filed multiple complaints of drivers failing to obey traffic signals on their street so HCSO Deputies held a Zero Tolerance Enforcement Event on Thursday July 19th. Over the course of the 3 hour event, 34 citations were issued, 2 arrests were made including 1 DUI arrest.

HCDPS reacted to MrRoryThunder for a gallery image, How the...?On scene at a bizarre accident in the road works. Clearly the driver wasn't focussing on his driving, went through the road works, over the ramp and got stuck. He suffered injuries so bad he fell out of his car and onto the floor. EMS was called as well as the tow truck to get rid of the van.

HCDPS got a reaction from Officer Skipz for a gallery image, DUIOver the weekend, the Harbor County Department of Public Safety resumed its regular anti drunk driving public awareness campaign as we approach the Fourth of July holiday. The DPS is specifically focusing on underage drinking this year with a new set of billboards throughout the city. HCFD firefighters and paramedics tried valiently to save the driver and passenger involved in an early morning fatal car accident on the eastbound Broker Dukes Expressway at Saratoga Ave. The driver appears to have lost control and rolled, ejecting the passenger who was not wearing a seat belt and who was killed instantly. The driver was taken away from the scene by HCFD's Life Flight helicopter, and later died at the hospital. Fortunately there were no construction workers present in the work zone where the accident occurred.
As we approach the July 4th holiday, HCDPS would like to remind all Liberty City and Harbor County residents to please buckle up and slow down. HCSO deputies will be out and will continue to enforce their zero tolerance "click it or ticket" laws. Remember, "Every Ride, Every Time, Click it or Ticket."
