I noticed the same problem, it only worked on 1 in 5 cars that passed by. Also noticed that sometimes the "spotlight" is barely visible (at close range) and have to exit the radar and re enter.

I had the same problem. Try changing the permissions of the exe file to "administrator". Worked for me.

Ah ok, I have: NVIDIA Geforce 8800GT graphics card (I'm pretty sure its 528MB, can't see on my PC), Intel Core 2 Quad 2,4GHz CPU, 8GB RAM Vista SP2 Can you see any problems with what I have?

I haven't installed any other mods apart from the ones mentioned above. No mods for car or character skins... yet. I can kinda fixed the police computer problem by adjusting the screen mode to 1920 X 1080 (that appears to be the only mode it will work on, on my system anyway). I am spending half my time with this game changing screen modes to either make my character visible or making the police computer work :). Whats "GPU"? Cheers

I have GTA4 patch 1.0.7 and I have the RC2 / Dashcam / indicator mods installed. I am having issues with my character becoming invisible (apart from his weapon) and the same with any other characters that come close to him. I keep changing the graphics settings and sometimes it works for 10 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes or a couple of hours but does get annoying after a while. Can any advise which particular graphic setting I should be adjusting to fix this? But my big problem is I am having trouble with the police computer now. The last time I used it the buttons (such as login) didn't respond to my mouse clicks and I couldn't exit (I had to exit the game). It wasn't aligned to the screen as it usually is either (it was more narrow and covered 90% of the screen from left to right, I changed the screen setting but no good). Has anyone come across this? PS. I noticed a bug with the dashcam and the radar. When you enter civilian cars the "spotlight" doesn't turn off when you exit that car. It might have something to do with pressing ALT + R when your out of the car (to frisk someone) as it also activated the radar when I entered the car next. And occasionally the siren turns off after you press the SHIFT key to pull someone over and the driver continues driving. Cheers

It probably varies depending on what the mod is but are their some "must backup" files? It won't affect the first response mod in anyway? Have you guys thought of uploading these files to this site for people that "forgot" to backup or is there some legal/copyright issues? Cheers,

Can I go to the last save file and delete/move it, would that fix it? I have had a look at the save game folder on my system (Vista) and it has 2 folders: one called "user_e000...." and the other called "Invaliduser". Inside the user_e000 folder there are 4 files (Controlmap.dat and then 3 other files "SGTA400", "SGTA401", "SGTA412". They don't seem to have creation dates that correspond with the times I saved them so do I delete according to the newest file or by the highest file number (ie SGTA412). Or maybe I just delete the Invalid user folder which only contains one file called controlmap.dat. Just letting everyone know I solved the problem. Moved the latest "SGTA401" file and the "Invalid user" folder to a backup folder and it reverts back to the previous save. Thanks for your assistance.

I have downloaded the RC2 mod and have the 1.0.7 patch. I have no other mods installed. It was working fine and I was a happy camper until while on my way to a mugging I crashed into the taxi stand/repair shop of cousin Bellic and it activated the video (to begin a job). Anyway it crashed with the standard error saying "GTA4IV has stopped working, microsoft is finding a solution". I can start GTA4 but it won't let me start playing (it begins to load and just as it should be starting the gameplay with me in the apartment it stops with the same error as before. I have restarted my computer and disabled the UAC but it still doesn't work. One other thing I did was to save it while I was a policeman, would this cause incompatibility with the original? Can I load the previous save game as I can't find where my loads are stored?
