  1. Hi, I installed GTA IV yesterday, tested it out and all was well. I had some issues with lag, so following this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boqjdbxfoSs which recommended disabling Event Collector and Key Log from msconfig, it worked fine. Then after installing LCPDFR, and running the program, upon startup and loading I get an error that GTA has stopped working. When that error message is cancelled, a new notification appears, that "Exception EFCreateError in module DSOUND.dll at 000116C5. Cannot create file "C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVasilog.txt" Access is denied." I altered the permissions on the GTA 4 Root folder to not read only. Yet upon application of this, all subsequent property menus show that option still checked. I also ran the diagnostic tool, which after verifying the basic requirements, up to the presence of GTA on the computer also stops working. There is no notification of an error for this. I figured if the diagnostic tool stops working, I'd better check with the experts. Thanks, Andre. EDIT 1: Following some other threads I sorted out the DSound.dll error, updated to 1.0.4.0, because I could not get 1.0.7.0 to update. The game now loads and crashes whilst loading.
