Walters reacted to CameronLHC for a gallery image, Deputy Injured in Crash While Pursuing DUI SuspectDuring a vehicle pursuit of a DUI driver Wednesday morning a Deputy's vehicle was struck by the suspect while he was trying to block traffic and set up stop sticks at the intersection of Paleto Blvd. and Procopio Dr. The Deputy was standing near the drivers side door of his vehicle when the accident occurred. The suspect struck the Deputy's vehicle on the passenger side pushing the car into the Deputy. The Deputy was transported to the nearest hospital for minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect was taken into custody and refused medical treatment at the scene. The suspect was found to be intoxicated during field sobriety tests. Deputies also found empty alcohol containers in the suspects vehicle.
