F keys on a laptop do other things like the brightness and volume and stuff though how do i make it so it registers it in gta 4 instead of using it for the other buttons? Because i cant use my f keys while playing

So i can download lcpdfr and play it but when i try to arrest someone the options like detain and all that need to be clicked with the mouse. The problem is that i aim/shoot with the mouse buttons so i needed to change the hotkeys in lcpdfr. I changed the ones i needed to and saved the file and when i started gta again it would crash after the loading screen. Could anyone tell me what may be wrong? the only thing i did was change the hot keys for lcpdfr and then it wouldnt work. I appreciate the help everyone. I am playing on a laptop. not sure if that has anything to do with it.
