I personally never tried it and probably never will. I also personally don't advise people to start using it as it could be a gateway drug. I have known people who used it however. My experience? Some people really "fell apart". They started with that and used more dangerous stuff. Total social downhill tour. Then again that could've had many other reasons combined. Other people? Almost fine, did not smoke a lot. Overall, I think there are worse things than 'weed'. Similar rule: Too much is not good, same for smokes and alcohol. As for legalization here in Europe I'm not sure. It varies by country more or less.

Regarding my post on the first page and federal police (as it has been quoted): My bad. Should've pointed out I'm not in the US or planning to become the listed things there. Simply because "Federal Police" varies between the nations. Here (Germany) Federal Police is more or less meant in a literal way. The FBI equivalent would be called "Federal Criminal Police Office", I think, where as the Federal Police is responsible for things like (if anyone is interested): border protection* protection of federal buildings of constitutional organs transportation security at int. airports or railway counter-terrorism (GSG9) sky marshals international police missions, doc advisery and in-house security for embassies Can also be called to reinforce state police. Previous LE experience is not required to apply; it is possible to change from state to federal and vice versa if there's spots, I think. *Border protection should not be compared with the US or similar nations in this case. The EU has several "treaties" for open inner borders and has their own border protection agency (Frontex). Federal police still checks the external national borders, however. They're basically "open" however. No real classic checkpoints anymore. The exception could be customs checkpoints.

Haven't decided. Not quite 'ready' yet, while I could try in theory. If I don't become a soldier, civil servant or ... something similar, then it may be the Federal Police. Why? Just seems to be the right thing for me, to work for the state and thus, also the citizens.

Seriously? People should just stop. While it may have been easier about 10 years ago, I think it doesn't "add up" nowadays for the average consumer. We can clearly see where it can end. Besides, there are usually more advanced countermeasures in place now to prevent illegal copies. Some don't work right, some degrade and you can hardly expect any working or serious mod / customer support, can you? Or in this case, you get ... the whole deal. But I guess people don't see that and primarily want to save themselves a few bucks. That's the outcome then though, however. It's this or that.

Hopefully, or this whole deal here will be a GTA 4 exclusive then. Then again ... I wonder how this may work, seeing that, apparently, GTA 5 Multiplayer seems more "separate", if you know what I mean. I guess we have to see how modifications will be handled in / for 5.

One can only wonder what may happen as result of this... and what the effects beyond the country may be. Hope it doesn't escalate. Then again, this had to be expected. That's the way the (monetary) system apparently works, and there has to be a "restart" or "reset". At least that's what also people on the markets / exchange experts say. With increasing nation debt there has to be a "cut", or reset eventually. However that may look like. Then again don't throw stones into my direction. I am no expert on the matter, nor qualified in any serious way. Just seems logical though.

Well, to sum it up: Originates from Half-Life 2 Roleplay, as part of the Universal Union / Combine / Overwatch / Civil Protection, you get the idea. The "bad guys". Unit characters on duty had designations with City/Sector, Squad, Rank and Digits. For example "CCA.C18-JURY.02.60595" (Ground Unit with Rank 02). Or "CCA.C08-JUDGE.OfC.31564" (an Officer Unit of an Elite Squad / Division). My digits were 60595 (you could pick them on your own unless taken), and 60595 in turn is close to my old 6-digit telephone number. "Unit" is just ... well that. Unit. Generic. For WL and this forum I then picked "Unit605".

I guess this is something you'd rather see or expect in a possible upcoming "LSPDFR" mod for GTA 5, anyway.

I can't really comment on gameplay as I do not have a console. However, I see the possibility here that R* MAY improve slightly on those things if there's need, given that "enough" people report or suggest it. Not like a DLC may be required. It could be up to a year for a PC release or slightly more. Could be fixed or expanded until then or via some DLC / Addon from R*.

Just gotta add here: c13 has some logical statements. And I say that as a person who is rather pro-state and trying to work in that sector. And probably may eventually. The thing is: Black or White hardly exists. Maybe in the minds of people, but in reality or practice it is usually more dynamic or grey. In the end, there are, excuse the language, "assholes" everywhere, and some might wear a uniform or badge. I really can't speak for the US but here (Europe, Germany) people should not forget that the job itself is a tough one. And people can change over time. It simply is a fact that "excessive force" is in the media here from time to time, and I don't mean the sometimes or often exaggerated reports by, for example, far left of far right groups who tend to "victimize" themselves. As for the US you can surely find similar examples or even video footage (that got into the news). If one would try to deny that, that may just be like closing the eyes from reality. Really, I'm neither in favor of "ACAB" nor "Kiss ass". Both of these are wrong in my opinion. Society requires police and other things to function, on the other hand, a potential "Kiss ass mentality" may just lead to a bad outcome. Do note that I picked two extreme sides here just to get a point across more easily. I respect the work of the police and similar agencies, but they're also just people, not saints who can never be wrong.

Hm, some good ideas I must admit. I personally dislike 7 (at least the "more health" part, in this case and in general) and 8, it...in my eyes it does not fit well into the overall setting. Maybe San Andreas more, but the whole thing (PD) appears to be more..."serious" to me. The weapon shop thing is a bit odd. You can use the trunk, and you wouldn't spend money for your gear. Spend it off-duty instead (although I don't relate being on-duty to Niko, for me they're obviously two different characters, so don't relate it to each other...unless you really want to). Regarding VIP transports, the chance of an ambush should be lower, OR adjustable by the player. On another note, I wonder about one thing. I couldn't find any clear answer on this one, but I assume it won't be easy. Is it possible to remove/replace Noose (apart from pilot) animations in some way? It's nice and all, but ineffective if you have to catch someone, or even annoying in some cases. It would be delightful to have Noose with standard animations. Any way to do that? Or is there a mod for this, perhaps?

I think it's okay. The police presence is rather strong, therefore can cover the area well. Maybe a slight increase? x1.2 - x2?

Interesting idea, but it should be optional or so. Or maybe can be switched via a menu easily without too much effort. I mean, having "static" backup can result in a tactical element. You can close certain areas and corner suspects, for example, while you move in from another side with your team. That's why you can have several partners. Just something to consider, I think.
