GTA V will not launch I get the Steam API error screen. Steam is logged on and still nothing.

I run the rockstar launcher and I get steam API error. I am logged into steam, and nothing is happening. I deleted the Battle Eye garbage and unchecked the box in the launch settings. Stumped.

This was a few minutes ago California time is 0600 hours, In the last few hours I was able to get into the game with little issues. I did download some vehicle mods, one worked okay. I loaded a few more and then the game crashed. I was going to remove those other downloads and see what happens. I am kinda new to this stuff and I don't know if I saved the crash report that I attached properly. Crash report.txt

Well I don't get that now. The game launches it goes to the robbery scene as always it seems. Then it shows it's loading the LCPDFR then back to the robbery. I hit the ESC key and then try to go to the police station and then the game says mission failure you left your crew, or some such. Now can I hit the little gear icon during the Rage loading and get some info that way?

I followed the video for installation and everything looked good. The game only goes to the robbery scene. I hit the esc key and LCPDFR tab and I go to the police station and the game gives a mission failure with the police station in the background. Loaded again and tried the apartment tab, same result. After a couple of restarts I ended up inside the police station and go as far as going on patrol with the vehicle and it never loaded.

Oh I've been playing with computer since the late 80's windows 3.1 on an IBM 386 MHZ computer which was the state of the art at the time. Playing with DOS games. were talking 30 years plus messing around with this crap. I am a retired cop with 30 years service in California. The more complicated these things are the more I'm falling behind. It really gets on my nerves.

I have been trying to play this GD thing for years and given up. I bought a $2000 computer about a month ago and it runs everything under the sun like you not believe. Not this GD thing. I really don't know where to begin. I'm 62 years old and maybe it one of those can't teach and old dog new tricks. I followed you install and all the rest of it...crashed again and again. I messed around this GD thing and I'm done. Maybe someday we can dump this whole POS BS and get a real game that has nothing to do with RAGE BS. You buy a cop game and install it like every other POS game and play done. I'm getting rid of this POS shit once and for and for all.

Everthing seems to load up and every time it goes to the robbery scene. Never to the Police part. Really don't know what the deal is. I have the same issue a couple of years ago and gave up trying anymore. Very frustrating. It was way easier to go on-duty as real cop with 30 years experience.
