gcltlee reacted to SeaHawk14 in Check out ELS for V!Not everyday, but the last video I'm aware of was from the 14th of October from Police Wag. We'll all wait, patiently at that, but a video update since then would be good, seeing as that was three months ago. Simply because in the last video the AI didn't respond to the lights and sirens. That's all

gcltlee reacted to patrickm28 in LSPDFR Future DevelopmentI think that the first release of LSPDFR is very good considering its age. It is amazing what the development team has accomplished in the short period of time since the game release, and with such limited access to game resources. I cannot wait for "LSPDFR 1.0" with all of the functions included there. In a future release of LSPDFR, I would like to see things such as:
Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services assistance. Los Santos County Coroner's Office assistance. The ability to call a tow truck for a damage, or misparked vehicle. Random events (intoxicated subject, assist a citizen locked out of their vehicle, assist a citizen in finding a lost item, etc.). BOLOs where the dispatcher announces the vehicle description, and then you have a chance of finding the vehicle on patrol, and you must attempt to stop it. Support for water patrols (there are sound files saying "Stop Your Boat", etc.) Support for air patrols (there is the ASU skin) where you have to follow a fleeing suspect while ground officers try to stop him/her. Foot patrol support where the calls are closer to you (only in busy areas such as the pier, Vinewood Blvd, the airport, etc.). Ability to be a desk officer where you have to take reports to citizens who come to the station Ability to be the dispatcher where you need to take calls, then dispatch appropriate units Ability to do a prisoner transport from an LSPD/LSSD station to the prison Ability to drive the police transporter around, and just respond to pick up prisoners along your route -
gcltlee reacted to Sam in What are your thoughts on the very first version of LSPDFR? What would you like to see in the future? You need to press Y while the Dispatch Alert is showing to accept a callout. The blue circle is purely to show you the area where it was reported before you accept. Apologies for not making this clearer.
Unlocking the jail area is more or less impossible just now, sadly.
You should be able to use the control to "point" in GTA Online to open/close the Backup Menu when using a controller. I believe this is Right Thumbstick.
We'll be releasing an API soon which will make the sort of callouts you want possible.
You can force duty by jumping and pressing F9.

I will update this thread with all of my findings and suggestions. This is just after Day 1 of gameplay. This mod has the potential to be as good as LCPDFR if not better. I praise G17 for their work. All comments/suggestions are constructive criticism.
Errors/Bugs/Issues *Note these bugs are from lspdfr01c and lspdfr02c. I have just downloaded lspdfr01d from the page now. Will try that one and update or scratch out bugs as necessary. These are here for G17 mainly. So I want to have accurate data.
Not only errors or bugs that I have found but issues I personally have with the game.
1) The disable siren button “J” quit working to shut off siren. I had just completed Pursuit Story 2. I moved the suspect vehicle off the roadway. Jumped in mine and noticed the “J” key did not work anymore. I use the “N” menu and could still enable/disable siren from there. I attempted to reload plugins and that is where bug 2 comes in.(THIS DID NOT HAPPEN TO THE FOLDER ONE NAMED lspdfr02. Only the lspdfr01 that is now on the page)
2) After reloading my plugins I had to go back to a PD to start duty again. Reloading plugins fixed the “J” key again. However after going on duty again I could not pull anyone over. “SHIFT” key did not work. (THIS DID NOT HAPPEN TO THE FOLDER ONE NAMED lspdfr02. Only the lspdfr01 that is now on the page)
3) You are still prompted to arrest someone even after they died.
4) I attempted to arrest a fleeing suspect and after getting the prompt to press the “E” key he kept running. After catching up and doing it again he put his hands up and kept running. Again I caught up to him and he kept his hands up and went to his knees. The animation looped and he kept standing and kneeling repeatedly. Then he started to run again with those issues. I shot him and moved on. Still an issue in the 0.1d release.
5) After pursuit AI arrested a suspect and on several occasions left the suspect there on their knees. Not sure what is supposed to happen after that but only once have I seen them take a suspect to their car.
6) After pursuit AI arrested someone. We got ambushed by two farmers with guns and he started to run away handcuffed. After catching up with him and getting him to stop the cops killed him.
7) CODE 2 backup only arrives without lights and sirens (As it says in the manual) . NO LIGHTS, NO SIRENS. CODE 2 is typically lights only response. Urgent enough to need traffic yield but in most cases you don’t want them to hear you coming. CODE 1 is normal reponse. NO LIGHTS or SIRENS. Someone replied that this would not change. In my area it is Code 1, Code 2, Code 3. I guess now if they don't plan on changing this I would like to know detailed response times of code 2 vs code 3 response and if it varies between units to see if it warrants having a lights only response that is a middle ground.
8) GTA V civilian AI. It was not fixable in GTA IV and I don’t know if it can be in this one but the fact that AI will run you down and kill you because you shot a gun is nuts. People aren’t that dumb in real life. God help you if you fire a weapon on the highway…mass suicidal maniacs gunning it as fast as they can….
9) Arrested people by AI that are not transported do not despawn even if you do go far away from them.
---------------------
Pursuit Stories:
Pursuit 1: I start chasing someone for some reason and during that chase two AI backup officers surround the car. One in front. One in back. They slow the car to a stop which was amazing and on purpose. They then get out of the car and turn the car into swiss cheese with gunfire. No reason for officers to shoot her. When I’ve seen plenty times of them arresting.
Pursuit 2: I join a fellow pursuit. Chase them and do a PIT on the highway. Get out and suspect starts charging pedal down at me. I open fire and a mass of idiotic scared stupid AI come storming in their vehicles trying to run me down as they flee. Something has to be fixed with civilian AI or highway patrol stuff will always be met with nutty AI after shots fire. AI did arrest later after another PIT and took her took their vehicle to haul her off.
---------------------
Player Arrests:
My Impressions: Currently buggy at best. I’ve only been able to transport one to the jail. It appears they get stuck in the kneeling/standing animation. They keep trying to stand up when they should be kneeling then go unresponsive.
What I’d Like to See: Depending on animations or limitations I would like to choose how I arrest someone. I would like to be able to choose between standing, kneeling, and prone arrests. It really isn’t a big feature to be able to choose but having the option is great. I would also like the ability to escort them to my vehicle as in the later versions of LCPDFR.
Pursuits:
My Impressions: These are fantastic and you can tell by the way they work that they were the focus of this first release. I’ve had AI cops ignore the fact that I was there at times and run me off the road while other times working together with me in a manner that was not accidental. Seeing good pursuits with a game that was designed to kill you with crazy cops is awesome.
What I’d Like to See: AI cops that don’t run me off the road. One time I turned onto the highway and saw a responding unit behind me. Instead of going around me he rammed me off the road by slamming in the back of my car. I would also like to see the fleeing suspect know to go around slow cars instead of coming to a crawl. I am glad some self preservation is there and they don't cream into people but it makes pursuits too easy when they stop for one motorcycle in the road...
Backup:
My Impressions: Being able to select who responds is awesome. I like it. I do not like the NOOSE SWAT or NOOSE AIR UNIT that just goes guns blazing or blows them out of the roadway with missiles. I mean come on….cheesy. Maybe fun for first release but its stupid.
What I’d Like to See: I’d like the NOOSE air unit to be able to respond as backup. Dropping people off via fast rope or landing as they do in vanilla GTA V against the player. I’d also like the ability to choose between highway patrol bikes or unmarked units instead of random. Bikes are useless against someone shooting back. They always fall off.
AI Arrests:
My Impressions: It is awesome to see the AI prone someone out and take them into custody. What is not awesome is when they decide to kill them. Or when they just leave them there and don’t take them in their vehicles.
What I’d Like to See: AI work better with the people they arrest and actually take them into custody. If not a failsafe that despawns the character.
Traffic Stops:
My Impressions: The base work is there. I like being able to mark a car and follow it a while. I also like how the entire stop works in general up until the interaction with the person in the car. There are literally no options right now.
What I’d Like to See: As many if not more options than LCPDFR had (police computer, dispatch options, getting them out of the vehicle but letting them get back in and leave) . I love the work of a state trooper. Traffic is my bread and butter. I don’t like pursuits much or callouts. I like traffic. I don’t care if its boring stops filling out tickets. I love it. The more options the better.
---------------------
Traffic Stops / RP stops:
Traffic stops are my bread and butter. It is what I enjoy most. From driving around finding no violators to constantly writing tickets I am happy. I enjoy the occasional pursuit and am not a fan of callouts. That is the reason I’m working on being a State Trooper. Start the academy in two months. So wish me luck: P
1) Finding a violation: The best thing about GTA V is that you don’t need to program in offenses. The AI does plenty on their own. One thing that our Troopers have is the all-knowing computer. Run a plate and it will bring back any information on that vehicle it can find.
To implement this system into GTA V LSPDFR would be for a car to generate a random plate number with text on your screen somewhere. You could automate this process by pressing a button to bring back information on this vehicle. That way if no other violations but they have some info back on their plates then you can stop them.
2) Initiating the Traffic Stop: GTA V LSPDFR has a good foundation for initiating the stop. I like the current system but I would like them to maybe give a menu option to tell the person to move forward or pull over more based on needs. If anything just give them better ability to pull over. I know early GTA IV LCPDFR versions were bad with pulling over but I’m sure G17 will improve this.
4) Stopping behind the vehicle: GTA IV LCPDFR made it very difficult to choose where to park your vehicle. You had to be up their rear just to get the marker to show up. So I’m glad that GTA V LSPDFR doesn’t require you to be close to the vehicle. You get to choose where you want to stop and how close you want to be. Although right now you have to be careful because if you get to close when they leave they will reverse into your car.
5) Making contact with the driver: GTA V LSPDFR allows you to approach driver or passenger side to make contact. No more standing in a certain bubble. I like this feature and hope it doesn’t go away with future updates and maybe more in depth stops. I want to be able to approach either side. Being able to switch sides mid traffic stop would be cool. Start passenger side, end driver side for example. Tactical reasons for this too but don’t need to go into detail. Also more interaction options of why you stopped the driver would be nice. Traffic Violation, Equipment Violation, Other.
6) During the traffic stop: Getting them out of the vehicle and questioning. GTA IV LCPDFR required more imagination and RP. I don’t mind that as long as there is a solid option to get someone out of the vehicle to talk and then send them on their way again if they are good to go.
Being able to use a police computer and/or radio to get information is vital. At minimum GTA IV LCPDFR standards should apply but if more features can be added that would be great.
7) After the stop: It would be nice if there was random delay in them leaving. Instead of running off immediately. At least enough to get you away from their vehicle.
