  1. I was thinking triple monitors and a crown vic seat to top it off, haha thats the goal, I'm looking to build a complete simulator complete with a crown vic seat, wheel, pedals, and the console. Like i said in one of the comments I'm working on a mock radio with a working mic too for the vocal dispatch mod.
  2. I got what your saying, I'm looking into the back lighting as well. However this will utilize momentary switches for the prototype, not on/off switches so i'd need to come up with a workaround for that.
  3. I figured I could produce this a lot cheaper and quicker than a whole console setup. I'll still offer the console as well, but this is the focus for now. I'm also working on a mock radio as well to use with the vocal dispatch mod.
  4. So now that ELS is released, I've decided to change directions on my project a bit. Instead of a whole console setup, I'm working on a controller setup (similar to a cen-com, 4200, federal smart siren) to operate the functions to keep the cost down. Here's a prototype i'm working on putting together to have 3d printed. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
  5. Whats up all? I apologize for the delay on updates, works been crazy the past few weeks. I'm currently working on integrating a Feniex 4200 Mini into my system to control different functions. I've also sourced a real Havis console (removed from an old patrol car at work) to move everything into. Once i get it all up and running i'll post a new video. The photo below is a little something i'm tinkering with using 12v to trigger a lower voltage signal to ultimately allow the 4200 mini to function with my controller. The 4200 mini runs on 12v, which is too much voltage for my controller. The 4200 switches will trigger the relays (shown on the left) which will send a lower voltage signal to my controller (in theory) to activate it without frying it. Don't mind the priority mail box everythings attached to, i'm just using it for pre-planning at the moment haha
  6. Crashes? in GTA IV? Never, hahaha
  7. Thanks bud, as I had said above, i'm awaiting the release of ELS to finish up. I'm looking to grab some crown vic seats and 3 new monitors too for a complete vehicle setup
  8. I apologize, things have been busy, I haven't had a chance to do anything else yet. But what I've completed so far is functional. Unfortunately It won't reach full potential until ELS is released.
  9. My controller isn't recognized as a controller, just an addition to the keyboard, so there are no issues with not recognizing multiple controllers.
  10. So I started bolting the console together to make testing easier. I'm waiting on an adapter for my mic and a few other things. Once its all put together and set up the way I like it i'm going to pull the electronics and accessories out and bedliner the whole thing for that nice textured matte black look. I'm working on putting a video together running a whole patrol utilizing the controls on the console. Below is the layout for the current switches; Switch one: Light activation Switch two: Siren tone 1 (Wail) Switch three: Siren tone 2 (Yelp) Switch four: Siren tone 3 (Piercer) Switch five: Air horn
  11. Im still working on pricing at the moment, but I'll keep everyone in the loop
  12. GTA V testing with Siren Mastery mod (don't mind the cardboard faceplate, i forgot my drill bits at work, haha). That damn pesky computer lol
  13. Update: I've begun putting the console together, i still need to pick up a few things for it. I'm also in the process of coding my controller, but I have a quick little demo and some pics of the console mark-up I thought I'd share. Check it out GTA ELS Controller Testing
  14. Update: I've began ordering the parts in for the setup, I'm looking to get a few of the switches up and running by next weekend and get a video together demonstrating the functions on GTA IV while we anxiously await ELS on Gta V. Stay tuned! Below you'll see the 3d model of the plan for the "Deluxe" version of the console. This model shows the drawer hooks, this offers the option to hook the console on a desk drawer.
  15. Below you'll see the plan for the prototype console. I used the controls from GTA IV's ELS until I get a set command list for GTA V's ELS. This will be the "Deluxe Version" if I do end up putting them into production. I'm still working on a price point and sourcing of a few select parts, so stay tuned for that information. Row one: Switch labels Row two: Sw1=Lighting Levels, SW2= Wigwags, SW3= Traffic Light, SW4= Takedowns, SW5= Cruise Lights, SW6= Blackout Mode (These switches will be able to be remapped by the end user if all goes as planned.) Row 3: Simulated siren box. Top left switch will be normal siren button function, bottom left will be the air horn, top right will be siren mode (stand by/hands free), bottom right will be the manual siren and the center rotary switch will be tone 1, 2, 3 and 4. Row 4: Functional cigarette lighter plugs, possibly the addition of USB jacks to charge phones and other devices. Row 5: Simulated radio. Working on sourcing a panel mount programmable LCD screen to display the simulated dispatch channel name upon powering on. Top left will be the "Volume" dial, but will only turn the lcd on and off. Bottom left will be an emergency button which I'm looking to incorporate the "Emergency Button" mod with to dispatch code 3 backup automatically. I'm also looking into sourcing panel mount 3.5mm jacks to utilize a push to talk mic to incorporate the "Vocal Dispatch" mod so you can communicate your status, request backup and communicate with other players down the road should the ability to play online with mods come into play. Row 6: Blank insert Row 7: Cup Holders Row 8: Blank Insert I'll be looking to throw a 3D model together in the next few days to better visualize the setup. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!
  16. we're approx an hour away from their Warminster headquarters in Palmer twp PA. I'm working up a design to produce my own consoles out of 1/16th aluminum sheets for this setup. It'll be much more cost effective than purchasing consoles from them.
  17. It could definitely be done down the road, the first prototype will be rockers. I'm probably going to get away from Havis. They're pricey for a gaming controller. I'm not a huge fan of the faceplate rails either that the torx screws thread into. They use genuine Carling rockers, we use Havis for most of our builds at work.
  18. So I'm looking for a good source for switches. I'm looking to offer some configurable options. Carling switches (the first image below which you would find in an emergency vehicles) for those that are interested in complete realism and a more affordable option such as those in the 2nd image below. Carling switches (depending on how many controls ELS will feature) could run in the upwards of $100+ for the switches alone. I'm also looking to integrate a PTT mic option for use with the vocal dispatch mod. I've also considered other options such as USB ports for phone charging. What other options would you like to see offered?
  19. I'm not sure what the price point would be yet, I'd have to come up with an economy priced console, if I used a genuine Havis console it'd be at least $200 for the console alone. I'm looking to make it affordable.
  20. Once I get a working prototype together and do some testing on it, I'll set up a website to pre-order. There'll obviously be a lead time on them, I'm a one man operation lol. In the mean time, you can check out some of my work on facebook
  21. I don't foresee any issues getting it to work, the issue would be if I were to produce and sell them, they'd be pricey using actual Havis consoles, faceplates and components. I'm going to see if I can come up with a design and produce consoles from either wood sprayed with a rhino-liner type material to give it the Havis look or see if I can get my hands on some aluminum stock cheap.
  22. I have a project in the works I thought some of you fellow whackers would enjoy. I'm working on a complete driving simulator with a functional console setup for the ultimate realism, it'll work along side with LSPDFR and ELS (When released). Essentially it'll be a USB steering wheel with pedals and a 12" Havis console with normal and momentary rocker switches that will activate ELS functions via USB. I'm also looking into being able to utilize smart controllers (Such as the Feniex 4200) for the ultimate realism. I build law enforcement vehicles for a living and have dealer accounts with multiple industry manufacturers and may look into selling these pre-built console setups down the road if it works out. I'm currently in the process of purchasing all the necessary parts needed for the build, but unfortunately I won't be able to do much until ELS is released. Stay tuned for updates!
  23. Good afternoon, I have a question for some of the more seasoned modders. I'm working on a project for GTA V utilizing LSPDFR and a stand alone controller I'm working on (Stay tuned, you'll love this). Essentially I'm wondering if its possible to send the radio dispatch and scanner sounds to a separate audio port to utilize a separate speaker for radio audio only. Any idea if this is a possibility?
