Hello everyone. Really great site, and lots of good support on here. I found the mod via a YouTube video and so I bought GTA 4 just to play this mod. After hours and hours of issues I think I've finally gotten it to run okay. First and foremost, is it commons to have random game crashes? After I got it working, the game crashed randomly twice within the hour I played it. Both times I was doing something different. Once i was just sitting in traffic, and the other I was using the taser on someone. Anywho, that so far was the worst issues I've come accross while playing the mod. But a couple things I've noticed and was just wondering if they were normal.
There are a TON of taxi cabs. Like 200 cabs to 1 other vehicle. Is that normal?
Something I learned after a lot of trial and error is that if I wanted to use ELS with LCPDFR, you have to install ELS first before installing LCPDFR or it won't run. Dunno if its like this for everyone else but that might help. When i close the game, I get an out of memory error and it kind of crashes on exit. It doesn't seem to affect anything so I don't care much about it.
As far as modded cars go, I found a website where they are installed via an exe file. Is this a good way to do it? I couldn't figure out how to manually install a car. But I do want to remove them all and start over since a few of them are messed up due to me uninstalling and reinstalling 100 times. And that takes forever downloading it from Steam 4 times in one day. Even with a 55 Meg connection.
Does anyone have some tips on using all of the controls for the mod? I know there is a config file but I'm dumb and not the best at reading it. I don't mind leaving the defaults, I just can't figure out how to accept a callout or anything.
And does what kind of config can you do to ELS? Any benefit? If so where can I get into doing that?
I shouldn't have any issues running anything, I'm using an Alienware 14X. 16GB RAM, i7 intel, GeForce 760 GDDR5 2GB mem. I get a constant 60FPS with max settings (doubt that is why I'm getting that error on close). But thought I would toss that in there just in case.
Thanks a lot everyone, and keep up the great work!
