Well, my log is identical to the one above. As for his issue being solved: How does installing any version of DirectX fix the writing to log problem? I just installed DirectX again and I still can't get this mod to work. I'm not blaming the dev - in fact, I could not even fathom the nightmare's that I would encounter once I installed Windows Vista! I was perfectly happy with XP. The one and only reason I decided to upgrade? LCPDFR. Really. But not for a users video, I would never have made such a monumental mistake! Everywhere I turn for help, particularly Microsoft, I am told that there is really only one way to cure what ails me - Windows 8.1! Suffice to say, I am precariously close to full-blown 5150! All because of dot net 4.5? Anyway, I'm iving up on this one. As I said, my log is identical to Ficdawg's. I've tried everything. Just before the DirectX attempt - I completely reinstalled GTA IV and manually installed LCPDFR into this new, updated and pristine copy. Nothing. So, before I end up being featured on an upcoming episode of Cops, I'm going back to XP.
