Sorry for reading this like very late but this is what I know about Texas laws:
The fine amount and occurrence for each offense varies by each jurisdiction, whether it was issued by the county or city (Texas DPS citations are typically filed with the county where the offense occurred), for example, a speeding ticket for going 15 miles over the limit in my county is $190 USD while in my neighboring county, it's about 160 . Some of the rural counties have a higher fine amount than in the more populated counties. For example, my friend got a speeding ticket in a rural county for doing 87/75 and the cost of the fine was $228 USD, but in my county, the fine amount is still at $190 USD. Now with moving violations, if it did not result in a vehicle accident, its 2 points, but if it did result in a crash, it is 3 points. Some violations have annual surcharges for 3 years should they be found guilty and convicted upon paying the citation at the court and others are fix-it tickets. In general, Texas traffic laws are quite interesting but if in doubt about the offenses, here's a schedule of fines
