I have been watching this quietly for some time now
Remember that little Soviet Easter egg, in the character selection screen, in the current version? The one where the NYSP trooper salutes and puts a winter hat on while the whole interface turns red?
Now, what if this update comes on the 23rd? That is the Soviet Army Day...

Yesterday on patrol I noticed a seemingly random strange red blip on the map near me and decided to go investigate. What I found there was a fully uniformed and armed police officer just like my own character who appeared very drunk and confused and had a broken glass bottle in his hand. I felt like doing something but just could not find a way to interact with him. So I had to let him walk away or just despawn him with some trainer and pretend I did not see that.
Does anyone know what mod or plugin does that? Or was it just a random bug? What do I do with it anyway?

What is the latest patch that it does work though?
And is it possible to get Rage Hook for that patch somewhere at this time? As I think I still have the backups of several previous patches but deleted the hook installation files accidentally when downloading the newest one...
Also is it correct that it does not work together with EUP at the moment? They used to go along fine for me at least.
Anyways looking forward to you guys going back to development :) The amount of work going into this is incredible and when you get used to having a system of coexisting agencies that actually makes sense and all those agencies having units out there and doing something as opposed to only existing on paper... Pretty much impossible to go back to vanilla. Not to mention all the eye candy.

I just installed the dispatch street names audio a few days ago and after playing for some time I realized that when giving the calls and incident locations the dispatch is still naming the general area or neighborhood as opposed to the actual streets. Now when I think about it I believe I have never heard the dispatch say a street name yet. Even those that come with LSPDFR.
Does anyone else have that thing?
Do I need to install some sort of script for that audio to be actually used?
Any help appreciated!

Hello!
Is the current release incompatible with the latest game patch?
Or am I doing something wrong? For me the game freezes and then crashes on loading. I am using a completely clean empty mods folder. Same thing even with an updated gameconfig by Dilapidated.
How to make them compatible if that is even possible at all at the moment?

A couple of days ago during a vehicle pursuit I heard one of the backup units yell in the megaphone and clearly announce themselves as the San Andreas Highway Patrol. Does anyone know what ped or voice says that?
As far as I know out of the four hwaycop voices three are actually the LSPD ones. The fourth one occasionally says some SAHP related lines but most of the time still generic stopping demands and threats. I tried all four and never heard highway patrol specific pull over or pursuit warnings on patrol. If any of the peds do say that sometimes is it possible to somehow make them more likely to say it?
Also does World of Variety or any of the scripts included affect the driving style of the traffic? Anxious impatient drivers hit officers and run them over and drive away which makes other officers shoot the vehicle causing full scale chaos. From my experience currently that will happen sooner or later whenever any of the police are blocking a road for whatever reason. Also when already in the panic mode drivers do not leave cars to flee if the road is blocked but rather ram the obstacle again and again pointlessly.

The SAHP Staniers should have steady burning lights, on the LED bar it's (I think) the 2nd red light from the outside, and the rotator bar has one in the center pod, which doesn't spin but instead is just facing forward like the real ones CHP used to have.
The relationships.something file has been edited to some extent to make groups like gangs and cops dislike eachother more, which does cause more shootouts in gang areas, but as far as I know it doesn't change how impatient AI drivers are, or how they drive when panicking.

And regarding the lightbars on the Staniers the halogen rotator one was what I was asking about. For me all the lights do rotate including the red one in the center pod. Does that mean there is an issue with installation or settings?

First of all I am thoroughly enjoying the new RDE since it came out several days ago.
It was a pity that the game update broke 3.0
I have a couple of questions though.
Is there a recommended visual settings mod for emergency lights?
What mods or settings should I use to make lights look the same way they do in the screenshots and the trailer?
I find that with vanilla settings lightbars on many vehicles just do not seem to glow properly. For example the lightbars on Blaine County Sheriffs cruisers are almost unnoticeable in sunny weather.
On the firetruck both the light textures themselves are bright and most if not all sections of the lightbar have a corona on them unlike just one or two coronas in each direction on police vehicles.That makes it very visible even from a long distance. At the same time in police vehicles the two pushbar lights because of their bright coronas are often the only ones you can see until the vehicle is right next to you.
Is it possible to make the law enforcement lightbars look similar to that of the firetruck?
Also is it just me or do the highway patrol staniers not have the steady red light anywhere on them?
The second thing is the drivers now seem even more crazy than they used to be in the sense that they insist on aggressively ramming things with their cars and apparently hit pedestrians on purpose when they go into the panic mode. Also you can now be rammed just for blocking the traffic for too long even if no shots are fired and there are no reasons for panic as it looks. And on top of that now there seems to be a lot of random armed civilians who pull their guns on people.
Does it actually have something to do with the scripts in RDE or am I imagining things?

The problem is now fixed apparently.
It seems that the update came with some sort of recommended settings for graphics or something that led my computer to believe it should try and run it on the integrated graphics card which is not capable enough for the game.
So forcing it to use the real graphics card fixed it.

Here it is.
I installed the latest Rage Hook and launched the game.
The Hook apparently worked fine but as soon as the game itself was about to start it displayed its previous behaviour.
It was sitting there for a couple of minutes before I forced it to quit as before.
Whether I launch through Rage Hook or through Steam, or even with the Hook removed from the game directory, the behaviour is the same.
A list of what works and what doesn't with LSPDFR 0.4. Feel free to add.

Hi everyone!
Finally got a chance to properly try out 0.4
Love the new stuff, especially the more sane pursuits, and the ability to call backup, and have them actually chase, and arrest the guy I am after.
I can see that quite a lot of the controls are different from the previous versions and I can not figure out how to do some things.
Like is there a way to put my hand on the gun and take it out of the holster like there used to be?
How do I yell at the suspects to stop their car during the pursuits? Will they actually consider stopping with the new pursuit logic?
How to access some of the unmarked vehicles, that no longer show up in the garage? Like the detective Stanier or the white highway patrol unit? And do those units never come as backup any more?
When I try to go on duty, sometimes I walk out of the Paleto Bay sheriff station, regardless of which station I walked in to. Is that supposed to happen?
Can anyone explain those to me, please? Any help appreciated!
Also, a little request for the devs 🙂.
Would it be possible to reduce the speed of the search animation and increase it for the flashlight animation? The latter, I think, is actually quite life threatening at the moment, like if you walk up to someone, with your flashlight out, and have to draw a gun fast, it takes forever for the character to put the flashlight away, and you are stuck during that time. The former, just to make it look nice, and more consistent with the other animations the character does.
