Lop reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First PreviewIt's actually one of my favourite bit about LSPDFR - you have all these talented people out there that share their work for everyone to enjoy. I think it's nice that people can get to pick and choose other plugins that they like. There's no point in us developing some hyper realistic police ranks system for example, as most people probably wouldn't want to play with those kind of constraints.
Well, by default we only use things that are already in the game, so that's the LSPD. If you wanted to add British mods, you'd still be able to.

Lop reacted to XanderVixon in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First PreviewSam said EUP is gonna be compatible with 0.4, so it will probably depend on the person's preference.

Lop reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.4 - Announcement + First PreviewBeen a while, huh?
You know, when we first started making LSPDFR, the whole process was pretty much one big roller-coaster that didn't have any brakes: there were the obvious highs when we'd finally add in something cool, but the low points were pretty hard as well - the amount of work that went into simply researching how things worked really took its toll as well. And, of course, while this was all going on there just simply wasn't any stopping, we were a couple of (somewhat) real people who essentially lived in Los Santos for just about all of 2015, spending month after month pushing forward and trying to come up with things that everyone here would like to see.
So, of course, the grind and the pace of everything simply just wasn't sustainable and after 0.3, it's no secret that while the numbers and everything for our site are still on the up, month after month, things did slow down quite substantially for the actual mod itself. But, we can tell you, this wasn't all bad news - it's afforded us the opportunity to take a step back and really look at the mod and figure out where we want to go next with it. While our approach before was all about cramming as much new stuff as we could into a couple of months of development, we've now been able to look back at many of the original ideas and concepts that we had for LSPDFR and build on them. Of course, with that being said, there's still a lot of new stuff crammed into 0.4!
With 0.4, we've taken the time to fix a couple of those "how the hell didn't they add this yet" moments :)
Aside from the cool little additions like this, though, the major theme of 0.4 is Character. Ever since seeing the character system for GTA Online, it was always our goal to implement something similar in LSPDFR. There's just something that much more personal and immersive about playing a game with your own character, and the possibilities that it offers are staggering too. And yes, while mods like EUP are fantastic (and awesomely compatible with 0.4!), they still feel somewhat separate or distant. With 0.4, this separation is gone.
No, these shots aren't taken from GTA Online. This is our own, fully-featured, LSPDFR Character Creator.
Of course, we'll talk more about the new Character features in LSPDFR 0.4 later. The Character Creator menu shown above is obviously only one part of what's new in this regard, although hopefully it emphasizes the effort that we've gone to. Thanks to some of the new additions like this, much of 0.4 actually looks and feels like an entirely new mod altogether.
Officer Ronson and his clones obviously couldn't make it to the flashlight party.
Stay tuned! We'll be sharing more about 0.4 soon.

Lop got a reaction from GunnDawg in [WIP][REL] Siren Mastery - Fully control your siren tones!Didn't think about doing that. Thank you!
-
Indeed. I simply just disabled the controls in ELS for siren use by setting their keys to 0. Now the keys won't conflict with SM and the A.I. still uses their siren.

Lop reacted to CarbonRevenge in HOW TO: Avoid Rockstar UpdatesEh, Luke, you got one thing wrong in that guide. The developer of Cities: Skylines is Colossal Order. Paradox is simply the publisher for the game.

Lop got a reaction from Adam L in [WIP] Animal Control CalloutHey there fellow Law Enforcement enthusiasts, I am here to tell you about my first callout idea, Animal Control Callouts.
Callouts available upon release include;
Dog Fighting in progress - Arrest dog fighters, seize property, and hand dogs over to Animal Services Rabid Animal on the loose - Work with Animal Services to take care of a rabid animal Crazy Cat Lady - Handle the call as you see fit(There will be multiple options) Things I plan on adding;
Animal Services vehicle, there will be a prisoner transport ped/park ranger ped that will operate it. This vehicle will possibly be a reskin of a prisoner transport vehicle, not too sure yet. Chicken Fighting callout Animal Abuse callout Drug Dog needed. You will need to be a K9 officer, if at all possible. This is just a crazy idea I have for now. I will think it through a bit more.
If you have any ideas, feel free to let me know. I am going to keep working on this for as long as I need to. Not too sure when I will release it as I just started.

Lop reacted to Original Light in How to Increase PerformanceHi everyone,
The last day or so I haven't been playing the game's story line as most of you are (I've already played through it a few times on the old versions), instead I've devoted my time to observing the game's graphic options and characteristics. In general, seeing what I can do to squeeze the best graphics out of it with the best FPS possible. After doing countless reboots and benchmark testing, I've found a few helpful things.
Not all of us are able to afford expensive computers, but that doesn't mean you can't enable higher quality graphics.
As of now, I am able to run the game on Ultra (1080 resolution) with 40 fps average, sometimes higher. Though on the advanced graphics menu, I have all enabled except the extended distance/shadow sliders all the way down.
My hardware:
Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.2 Ghz
EVGA GTX 680 Superclocked (2 GB)
12 GB of RAM.
I consider my rig at least mid grade or entry level high end.
All in all, I've found several ways to increase performance:
Run in Borderless Window mode. This allows you to turn off VSync, and you also won't have any screen tearing. Easy FPS boost. On the Population Variety Slider, feel free to move it down. This is a very VRAM hungry option. I believe it has to do with the amount of extras on Peds, such as backpacks or items in general, or the variety of vehicles on the street. If I'm wrong please correct me. I moved it down and noticed little to no difference. Use your sacred VRAM on something more useful! Additionally, if anyone is experiencing random performance drops (such as the game locking up, super low 1-5 fps out of the norm) this is likely caused because of overloading. Decrease this to ease your VRAM. I personally suffered from this and decreased the slider to the near bottom (2 notches) and no longer experienced this. NVIDIA cards - Use FXAA instead of MSAA. While it may not look as good, it has nearly no performance cost and I can't really see any difference. Additionally, enable it through your control panel rather than in-game for more FXAA options (different levels mostly), while in game you only have one option, which I assume is 16x. AMD cards should also use their equivalent if they want to increase performance.
NVIDIA cards - Go to the NVIDIA control panel. Enable Threaded Optimization, set Maximum pre-rendered frames to 3, and under power management mode, select Prefer maximum performance. Additional note: You may select "Ignore Suggested Limits" to On in the in-game graphic settings menu. This allows you to exceed your VRAM limit. I'm personally around 800 MB over my limit and suffer no issues in regards to performance. For those of you who want the most out of this game graphically, I suggest you do the same. If you prefer to have VSync for any reason, don't enable it in game. Instead, do it through you graphic card's control panel. Along with this, enable Triple Buffering. This helps increase performance while VSync is enabled. Overclocking:
Note: Overclock at your own risk. I am NOT responsible for any damage caused to your card. You have been warned!
Download the program for your respective card. For us NVIDIA users, I recommend EVGA Precision X.
I was able to increase GPU CLOCK OFFSET by 42 MHz, and MEM CLOCK OFFSET by 115 MHz. I have not gone any higher, nor do I plan to as I found the sweet spot for my card. Pushing your card too far may cause overheating, instability, game crashes, and possible damage. You may also increase the fan curve and voltage. Don't mess with voltage unless you know what you're doing.
I hope this helps many of you and you can enjoy this amazing game to its highest potential. Also, a special thanks to Murphy and Sniper296 for aiding my research.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reply,
Nick

As has been pointed out, the old Police Radio was not my mod - it is by Finkone and I've been updating the code for a year after he left (it was uploaded again under DCP's name). Now decided to make a new version. The old Police Radio still works fine on the latest updates so no idea what you're on about. This is also not the place to post about other modifications.
Regs.

Lop reacted to Rez in My Final Goodbyes..Hey guys! Been inactive for awhile now but some may know me lmao. Anyways I came a long way and this community is the best I ever seen, everyone is friendly and helpful!. You may be wondering what this post is about..? Well back when I started to play LCPDFR I was amazed; literally blew my mind. I couldn't stop playing and took it to the next realism then LSPDFR came out and wow even better and was so happy because I wasn't crashing then I did back in GTA IV (LOL). The mods have come a long way and have been improved much better and I want to thank everyone who took hours off their time to create great content for us to play and we really appreciate it! Without you guys we wouldn't have great mods :)
I am finally announcing that I start my police training and assessments very soon (Metropolitan Special Constable) and won't be on LSPDFR website for a long time, haha but don't worry I will check in and see what's up from time.. Congrats to my mate who completed all his tests and is now an official met police officer! Good on ya buddy. Anyways I hope everyone is doing well and those who helped me out in this community also without LCPDFR/LSPDFR I wouldn't have increased my knowledge in policing powers trust me it does help. If you are wanting to or have in mind to join the police go for it!
Finally I want to thank everyone in this community who has been a big help and to those admins and moderators working long hours to help others too! Also sorry if I was being a pain in the arse a few times.
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful new years! (Yes it is my bday today)
Thanks to all,
-Rez

Lop reacted to SuperStumpje in I arrested Charlie Sheen!I vaguely remember seeing his name pop up before, not sure if I pulled him over or it just showed when I ran a random plate.
I've come across quite a few "famous" people though, several of them got ticketed, might have arrested a few too.
Also beat up Ash Catchem with a nightstick once. I had to because he was refusing to co-operate, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact I don't like pokemon and think he's got a stupid name. Go ask Internal Affairs, they cleared me too.
