The only thing I can think of is that the vehicles folder is too big. I'd try testing around by deleting some sounds you'd never use, like the clown horn. Ultimately, though, ELS is very minimal on what you can do with the audio.

and I just tested it and by changing that value ALL sirens AND horns on ALL emergency vehicles have been disabled and now wont turn on, but engine sounds are fine.

yeah you can hear the vehicle engine and that stuff just not the one that replaces the fire truck horn ive tried with multiple different sounds but same result when the els horn is set to use the fire truck horn.

ok, so it worked somewhat els identified that the sound had been changed but when I press the horn key in game no sound is played, it is silent. IN Open IV if I select the file I replaced and play it in Open IV then my custom sound is there and sounds fine. Any ideas why?

this is what that line in my VCF is <MainHorn InterruptsSiren="true" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_FIRETRUCK_WARNING" /> but in game it is still the default police bullhorn

Hi,
I have got two police salots and have installed the vehicles.meta files and it worked. I used the no tint diffuse line to removed the black glass from most models. However the models in policet and policeb have got this diffuse tint line but it still remains black. If I change it with the trainer it fixes it but I'm looking for a permanent solution.

I agree it would be good. But what about the files which are uploaded but have 2 versions in it 1 for iv and one for v?

I had the same issue though and also saw that I had two extra_4 in the hierarchy. Did you check that by chance too?
i checked it along with installing what Oscar told me to and it fixed my issue thanks for helping both of you

basically I made an unmarked car to test els and put some els lights in the tail lights and called them extra 1 and 4 then put those at the top of chassis and then went in game and when els is on they flash fine but when els is turned off and I drive forward then brake the els lights work as the brake lights along with the normal brake lights. Also the els lights work as rear tail light when the headlights are on anyone know how to stop this happening?

thanks it now flashes however the light stays on and acts as a headlight when els is off. when els is on it flashes normally but when it off it acts like a tail light as when the headlights are on the els light turns on and steady burns when els is off it should be like this https://gyazo.com/759c42fff289594683706986e5a5856f but instead the light remains visible which defeats the prupose of it as its for an unmarked vehicle

hi, i have an unlocked car and have made a copy of the part that is going to be the light. I then created a new material made it shader material and gave it the vehicle generic lights emissive shader and then added my texture assigned it to my part which is going to be the els light. I then mapped it and positioned it where I needed it in the model as you can see here: https://gyazo.com/9c191d62c1d3e379ef62d65598620e87
Then I renamed it to extra_1 and placed in the chassis of the vehicle making sure it was at the top and as the pic above shows the emissive texture is visible which is what it should do. I then exported the car and put it in open iv to work in gta v and added the light emissive texture to the ytd file and on open iv I look where the light is and I cannot see the emissive texture as shown: https://gyazo.com/a85ace6512e1cfe5ffb754bcaace298d and in game I press J 3 times and it does not flash the only thing that does is headlights and taillights and not my light I mapped,
anyone know how to make it flash in game?

ELS Audio Strings

I have had a previous post on how to change the audio string so that specific vehicles will use the firetruk horn instead of the police horn by using VEHICLES_HORNS_FIRETRUK_WARNING in place of SIRENS_AIRHORN in the sounds section of the VCF config. I got it to partially to work with help from @Kallaus but now after doing what he told me it it mutes ALL sirens on ALL emergency vehicles and same with horns. I'm looking for a fix so that doing this does nto mute horns/sirens,
