  1. I created a desktop shortcut for "LaunchGTAIV" in the "GTAIV folder" (SteamApps > Common > Grand Theft Auto IV > GTAIV), right click it, run as administrator EDIT: Now that I think about it, is it possible that there could be leftover registry files from my previous install (that included car mods) which is causing problems on this clean install? I'm not really familiar with the registry or what files to look for in it.
  2. I appreciate your timely response, but the issue here has nothing to do with modded cars. I said in my OP that I had previously installed custom content into LCPD:FR but when I ran into problems I did a clean install. I played this time completely vanilla but still had the same issue (granted it took longer to crash) The graphic glitch wasn't a typo; I was just pointing out the fact that the game thinks that I am over resource usage when I am clearly not, and if by some reason it could be causing issues with LCPD:FR v 1.0
  3. Hello, I just made an account to describe this error I've been getting while playing LCPD:FR v 1.0 that results in crashing to the desktop. It does not appear to be triggered by anything in game. The full error reads: Title line: "GTA IV FATAL ERROR: SMPA60" Error: "GTA IV FATAL ERROR: Unrecoverable fault - Please restart the game -842150451 141220352" I've tried looking at similar issues in which they point to the error caused most likely by in game car mods (I've also read through the threads regarding this), however I have not installed any modifications on this install of LCPD:FR. I previously did an automatic install LCPD:FR 1.0 with several car mods using SparkIV, but when I started to get the error more frequently, I did a clean install of the game including deleting all related Rockstar/GTA IV folders on my pc. The only thing that stuck around was my save game, but assuming that could have something to do with the problem I created a new one, but still had the issue. I've tried all of the simple solutions: Running the game as an administrator, making sure all the files are in their correct locations and that they all exist, updating LCPD:FR's dependencies (even the GTA IV .Net Scripthook), but haven't had any luck. The only other thing about this that has me stumped is the fact that when I try to "uncheck" the option to make folders "read only", and hit "apply", if I open them again it is set back to "read only". I am unsure of how to fix this and how much of it is a factor since the files appear to be there and in tact. Also, the game was bough through Steam, and I am running it on Windows 7 x64 (6.1, build 7601) Aside from that I am aware of difficulties that arise in GTA:IV unprovoked; I had to create a "commandline" entry in the "GTAIV" folder just to be able to change my graphics preferences because the game believed I was exceeding memory resources at 300mb/3000mb. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for taking the time to read through this lengthy entry. I am just as curious as to how this can be fixed as you are, and I still intend to play the mod in the mean time. AdvancedHook.log LCPDFR.log
