It's a false positive, there is a banner informing users on the LSPDFR Downloads, refer to the notification which I will paste below which provides the steps to install it. Update 30th Jan 2026: Microsoft Defender has incorrectly introduced a false positive detection for RPH in a recent definition update. If you're affected, you'll see RPH briefly mentioning 'Verifying Hook' and crash or the EXE blocked from running. It may not be sufficient to just exempt your GTA folder; To start RPH, it may be necessary to temporarily disable your AV. You can re-enable your AV when RPH starts and hooks successfully. We have made Microsoft aware of the error and hopefully it will be corrected in a future definition update.

Due to the reasons behind it's removal, its going to be very difficult to find legitimate downloads of this mod from trusted sources. With that in mind, people really should not be looking into obtaining it through people they don't know. That said, we recognise the mod was a really interesting concept, and we're happy for the discussion about it to continue. Going forward, however, any posts that focus on where to download or obtain the mod will be considered off-topic and will be removed.

Just to clarify, have you installed any modifications such as cars, ped skins, audio changes or anything of the like? It's just base GTA:V Legacy and LSPDFR?

That would be a specific plugin for LSPDFR called LSPDFR Enhanced, which makes it a little confusing naming wise but LSPDFR as in the police mod has two separate files available, LSPD First Response which is for GTA 5 Legacy and LSPD First Response (Enhanced Preview) which is GTA 5 Enhanced Edition. The enhanced preview currently is an early preview so it might not function exactly the same as the legacy version, that is the eventual goal - most users probably won't notice many issues or differences even when using additional callouts, so if you have the Enhanced Edition installed and you have the Enhanced Preview installed you should be all fine.

There appears to be an issue currently affecting some users in the United States, Cyan is looking into the matter and hopefully it should be fixed soon. This topic has been moved to the appropriate forum. Please post in the correct location in the future.

I do doubt whether they'd do it, but it would certainly making hunting a lot more fun as it appears that will be part of the gameplay.

The problem is that at least from my look through, the free member access does not get you access to StopThePed, it gets you access to a single page which acts as a change log and a further paid subscription is required to access StopThePed, it's not clear nor stated that you can get it for free from the publicly available website which @UnknownBastion linked, most users would be under the mistaken impression that you have to pay, which is the purpose of the notification. The message is there to inform users of that and prevent people from unknowingly paying for something which distributed for free through official sources.

I'm not too sure on that one - usually the game launches better graphically sense than the trailer purely due to the time since first trailer vs the launch, I can't recall a game they've released where the trailer exaggerates the quality, it's possible it could happen but on form it seems unlikely.

Don't do this to me Sam Houser, it's going to be so difficult to ignore everything GTA VI whilst waiting for the PC release.
