(U.S. Forest Service LE units in the traditional "USFS Green" are phasing out---white vehicles with green stripe are current design---similar to National Park Service LE units) U.S. Forest Service law enforcement are responsible for patrolling hundreds of thousands of acres of National Forest lands in the U.S. They are fully commissioned federal police officers---they make arrests, catch speeders on state highways that run through Nat'l Forests, off highway vehicle enforcement, hunting enforcement, drug enforcement---etc. Very dangerous profession---back up is limited. However, the National Park Service law enforcement Rangers still holds the the most dangerous law enforcement job in the nation.
