At around 13:13 deputies were called to a residence for unknown trouble. Upon arrival they discovered a hostage situation - a man holding a woman at gun point. Deputies tried to talk with and calm the man for over an hour before the suspect began raising his weapon towards the female. It was then Deputy Rourke opened fire, killing the man.
