First
Operator K. Wright is the first female officer to successfully pass the Lakeview County Tactical Operations Course and was coronated into the Tactical team on Friday Afternoon.
"It wasn't easy." says Wright.
"They push you to the absolute limit. It was nothing like the patrol academy."
After the countless hours spent running, climbing, shooting, and lost sleep, the Lakeview County Police graduated six new applicants into the Tactical team, after an initial pool of twenty.
"The course is designed to break the unfit. Those who break don't make it past. That's the goal, though, because we can't have our team members break under pressure." said Inspector T. Charles
"Having a female pass the course is exciting, and we obviously never limit our applicant pool to males. We're excited to bring Operator Wright into the team and to work along side us. She proved herself just as every other member has."
Wright spent a total of six years working in the police service. Two of those with Lakeview County. As for other females looking to join into Tactical;
"Go for it." she says.
"It's painful, it's stressful, but just as I proved myself, so can you."
