It seems as if there were varied placements based upon the limited photographic evidence (below) that I could find. In one older COPS episode with a few '87-'90 LAPD Caprices, the Aerodynic seems to be mounted just ahead of the b-pillar. Quote Link to comment

Illusionyary 4,632 Posted September 19, 2015 The light-bar is correct, but as FCV96 pointed out it varied from unit to unit. Some of the vehicles had it mounted directly on-top of the pillars, others had it mounted closer to the front windshield - like this LTD below. Quote Link to comment
