Intercept in Iraq

After an airline flight out of Syria was determined to have been hijacked by members of an extremest group US Navy aircraft intercepted the Airbus at approx 22 nautical miles from Baghdad, after trailing the aircraft into Kuwait toward the Persian Gulf the aircraft's heading would place it dangerously close to a US carrier strike group, as well as Saudi Arabian oil assets. The difficult call was finally made to take the aircraft down, the emergency call made by US, Syrian, and Kuwaiti diplomats as well as US fleet group commander's. Two AIM 9's were fired at the Airbus, rupturing and igniting the fuel bladders in the wings, destroying the aircraft.
