It's called a "bubble lightbar" because it looks like a bubble.

Oh,I see.BTW,I hate them because since my childhood,I've seen only those on our police cars.I was so relieved to see those ones replaced with streethawk type lightbars when I became 15.Last month they bought something similar to slightly flattened Aerodynics.

I love the Michigan State Police light setup... tradition I guess. The police light setup that I don't quite care for is the NYPD "ghost buster" light setup... looks top-heavy and quite ugly.
