Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug Bust and Arrests
On January 22, two sheriffs conducted a traffic stop on a truck for speeding. The vehicle was observed traveling at 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. During the stop, the driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by the sheriffs. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed the presence of 5 kg of heroin in the driver's possession and a significant amount of the drug hidden in the trailer. Additionally, a phone was found on the suspect, containing a message from a potential supplier and dealer. This information has led to an ongoing investigation, which has already resulted in the seizure of three drug labs and the arrest of a cartel boss. The driver was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
