Sunday Afternoon I was playing just fine and 7 hours later I'm stuck on the infinite loading screen.  I tried Loading through Rage and through GTA storymode.  Both get hung up where it should go into the game.  I was playing off duty for a bit, just messing around, and I went to buy a soda at the machine and a pop up said something about R* could not make transaction and something about their servers.  But the game was still able to run, never crashed.  I also have a modded and clean copy of the game.  I just switched to the clean copy but it has to be updated.  At the point where it is going to update it says R* server are unavailable.  I'm guessing that is what this problem is.  Just wondering what you all think.  If R* servers are down could that be why I'm stuck on the famous infinite loading screen?  Pic below is all plugins showing and it should kick into the game but it's not.  I'm in CA, USA.  Anyone else having this problem right now?  

Ok I guess I figured it out.  It was a bad save.  I was creating 2 new characters and did some other stuff and before I quit I did a quick save through the phone.  Something happened where it didn't look like it saved so I saved it again.  I went into Documents>RockStar Games>GTAV>Profiles>"Your Profile"> and deleted the last save.  Then it loaded the game.  So I guess it was a bad save.

 

Also on my vanilla copy that wasn't updated I tried it again and it started to update.  So I guess the servers weren't down.  I don't know anymore.  Not sure why it said before R* servers are unavailable.
